“Not the best Residence Inn we've been, but good anyway”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

My husband and I are big Marriott fans and we particularly like Residence Inns in the States. So, needing to travel to Atlanta on business, we decided to choose this Residence Inn which seemed to have pretty good judgments on TA. Well, I cannot but second other travelers' reviews.
The property is quite dark, and may need some refurbishment, but it is still enough pleasant. Our room on the 6th floor is [we are actually still here in Atlanta] pretty wide, with a very good king size bed and nice furniture according to Residence Inns' style. The bathroom is pretty old but working ok and we have a full kitchen, which we have not used yet. Our room features two big windows too overlooking the next building's wall (not too charming actually). Breakfast buffet in the morning is pretty good (not exceptional) and wi-fi is free and powerful.
The area in Midtown in just perfect, enough close to Arts Center Marta station, High Museum and a couple of good and fashionable restaurants.
For the rate of 89 USD ++ per night I would sure stay here again, despite not being the best Residence Inn I have experienced so far!

“Don't expect much, and you won't be disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I have stayed at this property several times when in Atlanta on business. The only reason I stay here is that it is convenient to my business meetings in Midtown. The property is dark, dreary and doesn't appear particularly clean. It is very atypical of Marriott in that they usually try to keep their properties up to date, but this one is tired. It is wedged between two other buildings so no room, with the exception of a few on the front, have a view of anything but a brick wall or another window of an office building.
The worse part, as I have discovered on several visits, is that the front office staff is not particularly friendly or concerned about your guest experience. I arrived last week to find the front desk clerk and the phone operator engaged in a conversation. Neither look up, acknowledged me or welcomed me, and I had to stand their and wait until their conversation was over. It's much the same with any interaction that you have with their staff. It's obvious that this is not a high priority property for Marriott or it's about to be spun off. I would say that you stay there either for convenience or for your points. Not a great property!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front unless you want to look at a brick wall or the window of another buildin...

“Wonderful stay !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Won thru a Priceline bid, the room is a beautiful studio apartment-like with full kitchen. Lots of biz travellers, although we were staying for leisure. If you drive, guest registration/parking entry is the alley between the Hotel and FedEx building. Breakfast was hot and hearty, bed was excellent with superior cotton, staff was friendly and helpful, multiple coin-operated guest laundry was a big plus! High Museum of Art is across the street. Valet parking at hotel was $22 a day, overnight parking at nearby garage is $18. A great stay overall !

“Dark, dreary, depressing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012 via mobile

We got a suite room which we thought would be nicer than a regular room. To our surprise our room was dark and depressing. The is a wall that separates one room from the living space but it's a half a wall so it provides no privacy or sound prevention. The bathroom is in the bedroom so anyone staying Inge living room has to come in to the bedroom to us the bathroom. The beds are hard and the sheets are scratchy. We were scheduled to stay three nights here but, as soon as we got into the room we wanted to get out. We booked at another hotel and got out as soon as possible.

“Great for a visit to Midtown Atlanta”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Really enjoyed a one night getaway here. Perfect for visiting the High Museum across the street with many good restaurants in close driving distance. One bedroom suite was clean, attractive and comfortable with fully equipped kitchen. Requested and was given a quiet room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well stocked. An excellent "three star" hotel. One critique: there was an awful perfume odor in the lobby that set off my allergies. The from desk assistant said it was an automatic air freshener. I would not stay here again due to that allergy problem, but if you don't have allergies to perfume, it's a great place.

Room Tip: Rooms in back are quieter.
