“Disappointed”

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Tucker for 3 nights in October. I had stayed there before and it was really nice. This time there was a problem with the hot water. The 1st morning there was no hot water. I told the front desk clerk about it and she said she was not aware of the problem and could do nothing about it. I overheard other guests in the lobby discussing it as well. The hotel didn't think this was a problem at all. They charge about $100 a night....the expectation is there will be hot water. The second day the water was luke warm. The hotel clerk still had nothing to say about this....just acted like it was no big deal. Very disappointed in my stay this time.

“Nice hotel, with minor flaws”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2010

I stayed here for 2 nights the weekend of Thanksgiving 2010 with my husband, our preschooler and our teenager. I liked that the hotel was located across the street from a mall and a shopping center so there was plenty for us to do in the area. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were nice and roomy. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were very small and uncomfortable. The underside of the blanket had someone else's hair on it (gross), and really did not smell or look like it was fresh from the washer.
I don't know what free breakfast the other reviewers were referring to, but when we went the buffet was about $10 per person. The business center and fitness rooms are very nice. The only drawback is the sign says they do not open until 9 am. A lot of people, including me, like to work out a lot earlier than that. Also, the hotel had a sign that housekeeping would be limited on Thanksgiving so the staff could spend time with their families. That is understandable, but could they not have washed some washcloths before they left for the holiday? We could not get any at all that weekend until we checked out on Saturday; they offered us hand towels instead (huh?!).
Overall, we would give this hotel another chance; perhaps they were not at their best due to the holiday.

“A great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2010

Just spent 4 nights at this hotel over Thanksgiving. The facility appears to be a remodeled hotel which was probably built under another franchise. The current management has done a good job making it a Holiday Inn. The complimentary breakfast buffet was an unexpected treat.

“Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2010

I stayed here October 30, 2010 I normally stay at the holiday inn in Buckhead, but they were full. This hotel is great, the area is a little busy, but its on a side road which makes it easier to get to. The staff was excellent, the free breakfast was very good. I like the fact that it was close to the mall, and the movies, and my twenty year old found a club he could hang out at that was also just across Lavista rd. It is also convenient to 285. Would definately stay here again.

“Friendly accomodating staff”

Went to the Atlanta area to spend several days exploring and visitng the sites. The Holiday Inn Northlake was a perfect fit. The location in Tucker on the northeast side was perfect for getting around to all we wanted to do with easy access to I-285. The hotel is in a busy area but is tucked back off the road and noice and traffic was not a problem. The surrounding area provides all types of restaurants and shopping options .
After a bit of a glitch with our first room, we were immediately moved to another with no questions. The staff was alway very friendly and helpful and the complimentary hot full breakfast everyday was quite good. Monday through Thursday, appetizers and beer and wine are offered in the lounge. Would definitely stay there again.
