“Great Stay for our Families and Friends on our Wedding Weekend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2011

I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful the staff of the Atlanta Northlake Holiday Inn! Our guests were overjoyed at the rooms (VERY nicely updated!) and loved the full breakfast that was included. The staff made sure any slight problems were handled right away and were a pleasure to deal with.

After our wedding, the party moved to the hotel's pool area where family and friends lingered well past the posted closing time. Thankfully they were respectful of the other guests and I'm so pleased that the staff allowed them this extra time together.

A special note about the waitress at breakfast: She took especially good care of my new family by fixing sweet tea for my sister in law, even though it is not normally served at breakfast. VERY nice and kind of her. My husband and I were able to join the group on Mother's Day morning and were welcomed warmly as well.

Thanks to Kennlynn and the gang for the PERFECT home base for our wedding guests!

“Great staff, great hotel, great location”

We landed at Peachtree Dekalb Airport, and this hotel was our choice to be based at. It is within easy driving distance of all the attractions such as the Atlanta Aquarium, World of Coke and CNN. It has a great shopping mall right behind, but also an easy drive to Buckhead for shopping. The staff at this hotel are the finest we have ever experienced at a hotel, all of them but especially Millie the bartender (she's awesome!) and the cooks do an amazing job of breakfasts and evening meals (which seem even better when enjoyed at the bar with Millie and other very friendly guests.) Very clean, very comfortable beds. Felt like home with family! Very safe location.

“Very pleased with this hotel”

The rooms are roomy, clean, and up to date. The breakfast was more than a continental breakfast--and very good!

“Disappointed”

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Tucker for 3 nights in October. I had stayed there before and it was really nice. This time there was a problem with the hot water. The 1st morning there was no hot water. I told the front desk clerk about it and she said she was not aware of the problem and could do nothing about it. I overheard other guests in the lobby discussing it as well. The hotel didn't think this was a problem at all. They charge about $100 a night....the expectation is there will be hot water. The second day the water was luke warm. The hotel clerk still had nothing to say about this....just acted like it was no big deal. Very disappointed in my stay this time.

“Nice hotel, with minor flaws”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2010

I stayed here for 2 nights the weekend of Thanksgiving 2010 with my husband, our preschooler and our teenager. I liked that the hotel was located across the street from a mall and a shopping center so there was plenty for us to do in the area. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were nice and roomy. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were very small and uncomfortable. The underside of the blanket had someone else's hair on it (gross), and really did not smell or look like it was fresh from the washer.
I don't know what free breakfast the other reviewers were referring to, but when we went the buffet was about $10 per person. The business center and fitness rooms are very nice. The only drawback is the sign says they do not open until 9 am. A lot of people, including me, like to work out a lot earlier than that. Also, the hotel had a sign that housekeeping would be limited on Thanksgiving so the staff could spend time with their families. That is understandable, but could they not have washed some washcloths before they left for the holiday? We could not get any at all that weekend until we checked out on Saturday; they offered us hand towels instead (huh?!).
Overall, we would give this hotel another chance; perhaps they were not at their best due to the holiday.
