Checking in was fine, the worker on staff at nice...but then she was relieved a few hours later by a rude lady--I went outside to grab something from the car, when I tried to come back in, the inner doors wouldn't open. I saw another woman struggling, too! When I pried it open with my hands and walked in, the receptionist argued with me about how I should have seen the sign that says room key cards must be used to open the inner doors at night. Next, when I got to my room I peeped the furniture, which was worn and unclean. It had that lived in feel and look...which is uncomfortable for a hotel, but might be expected from a consignment or thrift store--very gross. Also, the room window overlooking Waffle House--big whoop--stays fogged up if you have the air conditioner on to either cool or heat! And the floor in front of the air conditioner is damp and will soak your socks! The bathroom lighting is whack, very unattractive hospital lighting. One of our lights' bulbs was out...don't they check these things? No, guess not. But 4 of the 6 people I encountered during my stay were helpful. The other two know that this place is not the Carlton, so they act like rude workers, very unhappy with their jobs. This place supposedly charges $100 a night regularly but I was able to get the room for $42 per night including taxes through priceline negotations :( I wish I had just went ahead and forked over the extra $58 for a better stay somewhere else.
