“Stay elsewhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

Stayed for one night. Took us over an hour to find the place. We drove past it three times. The address listed on their web site is NOT the correct address to use for GPS mapping (per the front desk when we arrived). It is directly across the street from Turner Field. That would have been great to know when booking the room. Wouldn't you update your address on your web site?

Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Rooms decent, clean, but could use some maintenance. On site restaurant, food marginally acceptable and waitress was rude. We got better service from those not waiting on us. Recommend eating outside hotel. Bar was okay for drinks, nothing special. Parking was $18/night with in and out privileges.

For the price and hassle, I would look to stay elsewhere next time.

“Great Staff bad location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

I stayed here for a conference that was taking place in the Congress Center. The hotel features a free shuttle to most of the downtown attractions, and Mike and Jonas are great friendly drivers, who know alot about the city. You are within walking distance of Underground and the Marta Station, but your view is of interstates.

If you room is on the right side ( capitol Street). You can see into the first top levels of Turner Field. The 1996 Olympic Torches are located on the street directly in front of the hotel. The pool picture is very deceiving as it is on the second floor roof, and was closed for season, during my visit..

But the place was clean, and the staff was great and very accomodating, even letting me check in 5 hours early. But the hotel is a victim of its location.

Room Tip: Try to get an odd numbered room, for the best view

“One night stay for a show at Philips Arena”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Capitol the night of a GnR show at Philips. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly. Priceline had booked me in a smoking room and they gladly moved me to a non-smoking. I was able to catch a taxi to Philips with no problems. They have a shuttle, but i was told that it could be a little unreliable. Overall a good stay. Rooms were nice size and everything was clean. Will definately stay again.

“Good location for Braves games but not much else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

I stayed here on a business trip in October 2011. I had to get to the conference center and so I used the complimentary shuttle to get back and forth from the hotel. The shuttle was convenient in that it saved me the cost of parking, but the drivers were overwhelmed with the number of people they needed to pick up and drop off around the city. The drivers were great and very knowledgeable about the area and attractions in the city, so they definitely made the ride interesting and helped to point out some good places to go for food or entertainment. The downside of the shuttle was that it was often running late (and for good reason...I watched the driver for upwards of an hour one night when I was stuck on the shuttle and he did his best to navigate traffic while picking up everyone who kept calling him non-stop. The lateness was NOT his fault) and the one time, the shuttle actually broke down on a group of us heading to the conference center. The replacement shuttle came within 5 minutes, but it did hold us back. Still, I was very happy with this service and really appreciate all the help the drivers gave me with finding places to visit and eat in the city.

The rooms are your standard Holiday Inn rooms and were clean. Only issue was some black mold on the bathroom wall but that is because of poor ventilation in the bathrooms. For $60/night, I really didn't care.

The biggest issue I had with the place was its distance from everything else. Seriously, there isn't a restaurant in sight so you are going to be stuck walking several miles downtown or going to the restaurant in the hotel. I ate there twice and the food was good. Not phenomenal, but good.

Definitely recommend this place if you're going to the nearby stadium for a Braves game. Would also recommend if you have a car so you aren't entirely dependent upon the free shuttle.

“Fun, long weekend!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

I reserved 2 side by side rooms for a group of friends. Excellent hotel for the price. Very nice staff, especially the shuttle drivers and the restaurant staff . Very friendly and helpful. The distance from downtown and things to do within walking distance would be the only downside. There is nothing close.
