My husband and I went to the Hilton for a weekend get-a-way. What should have cost us $120 per night, at 2 nights=$240 ended up costing us $380 dollars. On priceline we were offered a price of $119 but after the local tax, resort tax, local phone call fees, and internet service we were billed $130 more than expected.
I'm not a cheap person but doing this to your customers is just a cheapshot to put extra cash in their pocket.
For example, we made 3 local phone calls and when we got our bill they charged us $1.00 each time. The internet wasn't free, with a fee of $6.00 an hour, or $16.00 dollars, and parking for two nights cost $40. Then for the taxes $*SERIOUSLY*. This wasn't even a resort that had an indoor pool available, but yet we got charged a fee for this, not to mention a state tax, and local tax.
The lobby was decent but nothing great, the resturant upstairs "Nicolias Rooftop" had a decent view but for one beer, and one shot of patron it was $20. There was no crowd, no hype, and you couldn't even get reservations for dinner due to them being booked. There were at the most 10 people in the place. Parking really sucked, it is a 20 minute walk from the parking garage to the front desk. Make sure you don't forget anything because if you do your time will be spent walking your time away. The location to downtown was basic. It's about 3 blocks over from anything, no big deal (unless your elderly or have children). Consider it being all up hill there before booking. The rooms, nothing great either. You could hear the neighbors next door talking and carrying on all hours of the night. God forbid you have children with you and have to be around drunk, cuzzing, and loudmouth people. And to top it off, there is no refrigerator in the room and we had to call the front desk around 3 pm to have someone come and make/change the sheets in the room.
I would stay somewhere else. I have been to alot better hotels in Atlanta and this one is on my worst list. If it wasn't for the good time that my husband and I made it the trip would have been a disaster. Thanks for nothing Hilton. I would have expected more out of your hotel chain then what we received.
The only positive thing that I took away from this place was the great customer service the concierge gave us. I forgot the gentlemans name but he looks like Wayne Brady. You know who you are, thanks for helping us out. Nothing else gets a thumb up.
