We had a wonderful two nights at the Woodstocker Inn. We especially liked our hosts, David and Dora, who are charming, interesting and extremely helpful. You might be off-put at first by the rules, but after that it is smooth sailing. Our fellow lodgers were from all over... Great Britain, Germany, California, NY... and equally interesting and fun. Food was really good and varied... organic, homemade. Really a great place.

If it wasn't for the bright yellow paint you would think that this B&B located on the edge of the delightful village of Woodstock was a traditional New England inn.

Inside though you soon find enough quirks and character to make it a place that anyone with a sense of humour and a relaxed attitude to life will enjoy.

Our ground floor room (Bradford) was large with a massive comfortable bed and a duvet. Being low down it only had one window so light was needed and it lacked a wardrobe and much drawer space. Not a problem for us but others might find this difficult. What I didn't like was the small sink in the bathroom and the odd placement of the mirror. Shower was fine and the pebble lined bath fun although I didn't test my backside on it!

Breakfast was excellent and the organic bacon and sausages delicious. Common rooms were cozy and it was nice to relax with a beer in the library at the end of the day. The village was an easy 10-15 minute walk - take a torch (flashlight) for the walk back in the dark.

Best of all were the warmth and help given by David and Dora who clearly love people and what they do. Prices were on the high side but that does reflect the time of year and their target market and, as David himself would say, The Woodtstocker isn't for everyone. However if you buy into what they are trying to do then you will have an excellent stay.

The hosts David and Dora were friendly and welcoming, they gave great advice with suggestions of where to go within Woodstock and wih the rest of our trip.

The rooms and bathrooms were roomy and luxorious, although not furnished in a traditional New England style. The library, kitchen and dinning area were great with everything you needed to plan the rest of our trip and relax. The kitchen was a good touch with tea, coffee and soft drinks available all the time. Chocolate scattered around was a nice touch.

Location was good, with a 5-10 min walk into Woodstock with its shops and restaurants.

A good find.

We know, that like us, you will love spending time with the three D's, David, Dora and Daisy, their top dog!

We thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and fun of this immaculate B&B -- the eclectic and fun rooms, the comfy beds for a "lights-out" sleep, and the delicious breakfast, including an individually prepared plate of eggs, meats and vegetables - on a heated plate brought straight in from the kitchen!

The location was very convenient -- with shops and a covered bridge within easy walking
distance. Along with Woodstock itself, we also enjoyed easy access to the historic Marsh/Billings/Rockefeller National Park, the nearby (30 min drive) Calvin Coolidge childhood hilltop farm.

We would definitely return to the Woodstocker Inn on our next visit, and hope to stay even longer!

The owners are wonderful people and their dog is adorable! Great library. They have a kitchenette for the guests, unlimited coffee, tea, lots of snacks and candy anytime you want. Breakfast was hearty and healthy. They give you a menu and you order what you want, cooked fresh. The room I stayed was wonderful, lots of room and creative decorations.
