It is not the cheapest spot, but it is quiet and clean. The breakfast is minimal, just mostly muffins, sweets, etc. But you can order from a limited menu, 24 hours a day. Hubby ordered a hamburger meal one night. It was ok, but if you want more for the money and better taste, go elsewhere. There are restaurants not far away that are fine. There was a motel-sized fridge in the room with a small coffee maker. As well as the other items such as iron, hair dryer, etc.

My wife and I stayed here, along with other members of the family who came in to Richmond for a wedding. We like the new lobby layout with nooks and crannies to talk as a group or hide with a book. The breakfast is fine, although non of the major hot items like some hotels, and I loved the coffee! The rooms are nicely lain out with a suite feel - bed separated from sitting area - and a nice large flat screen TV to swivel either direction.

If we could wave our hands to change some things, here are two personal preference items:
- The air conditioner/heater in the window is loud. This is true in most hotels but in rooms with this layout, the bed is right next to the window unit and the person on that side really has to be tolerant. My wife isn't so much and didn't get a great night's sleep.
- We are in the TV business so it was a bit disconcerting that the major networks were the only ones offered with HD. If CNNHD was available, we couldn't get it.

Overall, we would go again and would recommend it to others.

We stayed here while we were without power after Hurricane Irene. Every Hyatt Place I have been to is great and this one is no different. It's clean, reasonably priced, and efficiently run. I hope we don't lose power again, but if we do we will stay here.

My husband and I have a 3-yr old and a 2-yr old, and we came in from VA Beach to Richmond to hide out from Hurricane Irene, so our primary concerns were: safety, electricity, internet/phones and cleanliness. The hotel was full with other evacuees, mostly families, so everyone was of similar mindset. The staff was friendly, but clearly overwhelmed by the weather conditions which brought on leaking windows and ceilings and cramped conditions as everyone was forced to stay indoors. Extra towels to soak up leaks were readily provided, and the staff maintained a positive, patient attitude. Only wish was that the DirecTV lineup include more children's channels.
