This place was awful.

Glad some of the previous posters had a good experience... but, I am wondering if they stayed in the same hotel that we did.

Pros list:

- Somewhat spacious
- $45 on Priceline
- Balcony in room

Cons list:

- Someone walked into our room at 9:00am without knocking!!!
- The bathtub had a rusty hole in it (see picture)
- The bed was hard as a rock and my wife woke up with back pain
- Rooms were very dated
- There were holes in the furniture from where the handles used to be (see picture)
- Had to walk half way through the hotel to get a luggage cart
- No continental breakfast of any kind
- Towels smelled like smoke and were small and rough
- Very small vanity/sink area

Needless to say... we will not. be. staying. here. again. This really hurts Marriott's reputation. I hope they are planning a major renovation here soon, or at least condemning the property. The lobby area and grounds looked somewhat nice... but the room was ridiculous for this brand.

I read bad reviews from the other Courtyard Marriott down the street as well... Ii would recommend spending a little extra and staying at the new Hilton, Hotel Sierra or the new Westin. We were planning on staying two nights, but checked out on the first. Thankfully we didn't pay in advance for two nights!

The motel is a little outdated then some and the rooms were on the smaller size. The business center only has one computer. There is no wireless internet, but the do supply the cable. The rate was great, we paid only $94.00 per night that included a full breakfast buffet . We are Gold members of Holiday Inn Express, but have recently converted to Courtyard because their much bigger breakfast buffet with healthier choices. The staff was wonderful! actually I lost our room keys with their business card with them. I called the motel, they changed our locks immediately and had our new keys waiting at the desk when we came in. The staff is Great! I highly recommend this motel to everyone.

My Experience : This hotel is far away from Richmond airport. it costed me about 55-60 USD in the night to reach the hotel from the airport. The rooms were damn good and matched the tariff. if you are travelling on business can afford the rates, then it will be a good experience. Try to book over internet to get the best of the rates available. The meeting room in the hotel is a very convenient one and apt for business meetings.
Dos : Take a dip in the indoor swimming pool, there are few convenios nearby.
Donts : The hotel does not offer a complimentary breakfast, so dont be surprised if you are asked to pay for your breakfast.

I have had a love-hate relationship with this hotel over the years. For a while the service at the front desk was a little on the trashy side. I am glad to see that they have cleaned their act up. It's a great hotel. No doubt about it! I love it and try to stay here whenever I am in the west end of Richmond.
