We stayed on our way to the beach for an overnight. After nine hours in the car, this was very welcome stop. The room was large, well appointed, very clean and the bed tremendous! We were too late upon our arrival to take advantage of the pool, but there were several eateries nearby that we could walk to. The desk staff were all very helpful.

The hotel is in a good location and is good for the money. Plenty of parking. You can walk to the movies and a couple of restaurants. There is a food shop you can purchase hot or cold breakfast. The rooms are clean and spacious. I was on the top floor and it was quiet and restful. The only complaint is the pillows. They definitely need to invest in new pillows. And the WiFi in the rooms is almost zero. You will need to plug in if you need to work or go downstairs.

I've stayed in quite a few Courtyard Marriott before and this one seems to be old and dingy compared to many of those others. The inside door handle to the room was oddly positioned straight down (at 6 o’clock) instead of sideways (at 3 o’clock) and it wasn’t just one room (I stayed in two different rooms during two different stays). Its like the carpenter installed all of the door hardware wrong initially and it was never corrected. The drinking glasses where wrapped and said something like sparkling clean on the label wrapping but they were anything but. They had tiny pieces dried on mystery material and dirty finger prints all over them. If you do stay in this hotel I’d suggest you hold the glasses up to a light to check them before using them. I also made the mistake of walking out of my room into the hall barefoot. I ended up stepping on something that looked (as I removed it from my foot) like a splinter of glass. Not everything was horrible though. The girls working the breakfast buffet\restaurant in the mornings were very nice. Their good service was the highlight of my stay.

This place was awful.

Glad some of the previous posters had a good experience... but, I am wondering if they stayed in the same hotel that we did.

Pros list:

- Somewhat spacious
- $45 on Priceline
- Balcony in room

Cons list:

- Someone walked into our room at 9:00am without knocking!!!
- The bathtub had a rusty hole in it (see picture)
- The bed was hard as a rock and my wife woke up with back pain
- Rooms were very dated
- There were holes in the furniture from where the handles used to be (see picture)
- Had to walk half way through the hotel to get a luggage cart
- No continental breakfast of any kind
- Towels smelled like smoke and were small and rough
- Very small vanity/sink area

Needless to say... we will not. be. staying. here. again. This really hurts Marriott's reputation. I hope they are planning a major renovation here soon, or at least condemning the property. The lobby area and grounds looked somewhat nice... but the room was ridiculous for this brand.

I read bad reviews from the other Courtyard Marriott down the street as well... Ii would recommend spending a little extra and staying at the new Hilton, Hotel Sierra or the new Westin. We were planning on staying two nights, but checked out on the first. Thankfully we didn't pay in advance for two nights!
