“Best in place with reasonable rates and amazing ficilities and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

I booked the hotel through travel agent...and the hotel is centally located with all amenities at very reasonable rate.Pariculrly suited for long stay...where you feel like home instead of being away from home.

I specially liked the complmentary breakfast and Dinner which is at par with any 5 star hotel.During my stay for 45 days...very seldom the menu were repeated in breakfast and dinner.I never felt like exploring food outside as I experienced the best of US food in ny hotel itself. To unwind the day..we had recreation facilities like swimming pool,Badminton etc.

Amazing place to be for work or leissure!!

“Residence Inn works...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2011

I had stayed in residence inn in Rosemont for 5 months...so it was obvious that when I stay for a month in Richmond, VA...I was looking for another Residence Inn...they always maintain their Standard...here staff knows you much better because the Hotel is small compared to Rosemont...I would never forget the Lady during Breakfast...always wishing you with a smile...ready to help you, serve you with smile...other staffs are always ready to go to the root of the problems to solve them...cleanliness, ambiance are again superb...however some of the items from their Kitchen were missing...they should check the rooms before they allot it to a new guest...but when asked...they promptly provided....they have a tie-up with Gold's Gym...I am not sure how long it would be...but a real nice tie up...swimming pool is again outdoor...

“Wish I could find these everywhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2011

I stayed here on two separate occasions. Once in October and once in December. Only writing one review though, SO first trip was amazing. Both times I was asked if I preferred a first or second floor room. First stay was on the second floor. All the entrances are from the outside so it you stay on the 2nd floor be warned you will have to walk up stairs. The room was lovely nice large kitchen area with all the things you need to make a meal. Didn't try breakfast during either stay but there is a Krispie Creme down the road a bit that was awesome. Layout was nice and I couldn't say the room was dirty everything seemed really great. Which is why I stayed again in December. Our second trip we had a first floor room- do not opt for this!!!! I had to walk down what seemed like a small ally between rooms to get to my room- after much difficulty finding it in the first place. It is very quiet and peaceful but it felt a little unsafe. The room was nice though, again same thing with kitchen and the room had a fireplace. Small living area, as well as large bathroom. Love that the sinks are outside from toilet area. Double sinks. Love staying at Residence Inn's and haven't had a problem yet. Great location to shopping and food. Plenty of options for anything you want. Dennys right on the corner as well. I would stay here again if I need to go back to this area.

“I wish the staff service could make up for the poor accommodations, but it doesn't”

I stayed here for only 1 night for business and it was a bit rough. First, the good stuff: The service and staff were all very nice. The breakfast in the morning is quite a spread and very plentiful. I have never seen a breakfast spread at a hotel that had so many choices and the gal who maintained it was also quite pleasant and friendly. The location is great, but I found myself looking longingly at the Westin right across the street. The shower head was great with really nice pressure and well placed, with one of those nice curved shower rods.

The whole place is terribly dated. In fact the clerk at the front desk made a joke about it when I arrived. My room was on the 1st floor and as a single female in the room I quickly found myself nervous because the locks and doors were all pretty loose. The room door was also hidden behind a dark stairwell that no one could have seen, also made me nervous.

The room, furnishings, TV, and likely linens have probably not be replaced in decades. Though the bathroom and surfaces were all pretty clean, the couch and floor were pretty nasty. As a previous comment noted, all the linens were very thread barren and I was struck by how few linens were actually on the bed. The bed spread was so thin I had to get up in the middle of the night to pull out the extra blanket in the closet which turned out to be ancient and full of holes. I would have just turned the heat up, but the heat seemed to be either boiling or freezing, with little in between.

Though it had free internet it was terribly slow and I was only able to get one "bar" on my network connection. Took me 15 min just to download regular emails, with NO attachments!

This place would have been rough to stay in for a long term. It was sufficient, but not comfy by any means. Won't stay there again.

“DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!”

We stayed in this hotel in August. We have stayed in Residence Inns in the past and were accustomed to their usual high standards of cleanliness and quality. We were shocked that this hotel did not even come close to those standards. The accomodations were filthy, the linens threadbare, and the overall maintence lacking to a high degree. I had told the folks we were traveling with that we should stay at a Residence Inn since in my experience they had always been top-notch. Well, I was so embarrassed with the condition of this one when my relatives said the next morning that they were totally "grossed out" by the accomodations.
