“Lovey studio apartment in the off season”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

I just returned from 3 nights at La Pelosetta in Stintino. I have been staying in a hotel in Sassari Sardinia for 3 weeks on business and wanted to get away from the city for a few days. La Pelosetta was perfect. As others have stated the location is stunning and there is a long paved beachwalk that is ideal for morning walks or running. There are also spectacular rugged rocks/cliffs behind the hotel that can easily be scaled to see a completely different vista. I selected La Pelosetta because I am traveling alone and wanted a quiet place where I felt secure, could do laundry, cook my own meals (for a change!) and enjoy an ocean view. This place worked out great but only because it is the off season. The small apartments (photos attached) normally rent by the week but in Sept, they allow nightly rentals and 3 days was all I needed. I don't know that I would enjoy staying here in the summer because I think that it is teeming with people so if you require solitude, come in September, but be warned that almost all the shops/restaurants are closed. The water is still warm, the beach is lovely and it is possible to relax. Now for the details, I had a studio apartment with a fold out sofa bed that was better than most sofa beds but still lacked some comfort. The room was spotless and furnished with towels and a starter supply of soap and shampoo. The room had a 2 burner gas stove, a small sink and small refrigerator. It came with enough kitchen utensils to easily make and consume simple meals. The bathroom was tiny but sufficient for me - I think that my husband would have had a hard time fitting in the shower. The only downside is the noise from the rooms above - the water noise and squeaking of moving chairs was quite audible and I think that if the hotel was fully occupied that it would have been quite loud (I had only 1 room occupied around me). The reception area has 2 computers with internet access that you can purchase by the hour but there is NO wireless access. Likewise, there is a 42" flat-screen TV in the reception area but only small TV in each room. The paid laundry area has a single washing machine and each room has a drying rack. My clothes dried rapidly outside in the sun and breeze. The multilingual front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. The manager spoke quite passable English.

“Very picturesque setting but be prepared for the crowd scenes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2009

A very pretty location, great for dining in the evening from the restaurant with the moon rising over the sea. The Spiaggia di Pelosa (Pelosa beach) is incredibly well known and popular, however, to the extent that there is a constant stream of traffic and people past the hotel from 09:00hrs to 19:00hrs every day in season. The beach is very popular too and the only moments of tranquility come before and after these times. It can be a relief to get off the beach and use the hotel loungers (chargeable) on the lawn in front of the beach. The hotel accommodation is of a reasonable standard and the refridgerator provided for guests in hotel rooms is a helpful touch but, otherwise, with a location like this, the management doesn't have to try hard to keep occupancy rates high. For English speakers, forget about television for the duration of your stay - not a bad thing, perhaps. The restaurant food is consistently good (it is Italy, after all) and there is a discount for hotel residents. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it if you are happy with crowds, as it is a nice beach to swim from and is a decent place from which to explore the Sassari region. Hire car is a 'must have' unless you are determined to spend everyday sunbathing.

“Fantastic Location - Clean, and friendly staff”

Stayed here for 3 nights with partner, and was perfect location. The rooms are simple, but perfectly clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The views are amazing, and you are literally 30metres from the most beautiful beach in all Sardinia. Each room has its own balcony with incredible views. I highly recommend La Pelosetta, its value for money and exactly what we were after.

“Perfect Location, clean but basic”

Stayed here for 3 nights in June with Wife and small child. The setting is truly stunning with sea views to die for. Stayed in the hotel which is more like a basic s/c apartment which had a fridge and a ceiling fan, was spotless and cleaned everyday with fresh towels. There is even a little park for the kids slightly up the hill. 3 days was probs enough but if you are beach lovers a week would be fine. Would definitely reccomend to anyone.

“Simple paradise in Sardinia”

Visited La Pelosatta with another couple in July 2008. Expectation was raised from the delightful drive to the property, along the beachfront. We were not dissapointed. La Pelosatta is more a chalet type or serviced apartments, every one with an amazing view of the spectacular beach front, sea and island metres off the coast.
Ultimately this hotel is clean and welcoming and it is surely it's immediate distance from the sea yet silent nights that made it such a brilliant stay.
Key tip: try to get the hotel to reserve the sun beds on the grass and ensure you pick up some pecorino cheese and ham from the deli in Stintino for snacking on the beach.
