“The crappiest place on Sardinia”

Awful service from staff unwilling to help and hardly speaking English. They charged me 120 eur for three [--] pillows supposed to be missing from my hotel room. The pictures show a high standard family resort. In reality it is a worn down 2 star hotel charging 5 star prices.
I would strongly suggest to avoid this place as there are a lot of nice places close to this crap establishment.

“A nice stay... cheap price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2009

I've spent one week of total relax at the Hotel Cala Rosa, with my sister and my six-month-old daughter. The staff was very friendly, obliging and willing to help me expecially with the baby. Food was good, abundant and we had a wide choice of dishes every day (we've always found a starters buffet, choice among three different kind of pasta, the same for main course, vegetable buffet, and the last but not the least, a wonderful buffet of desserts). I walked every morning to Spiaggia dell'Ancora which is 5 minutes far from the hotel, while to go to the outstanding beach la Pelosa, the hotel is operating a shuttle service free of charge. So, good value for money!!!!!

“Great if you want to enjoy great food, relax and a lovely sea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2009

If you want a nice holiday and enjoy the sun and the sea, Stintino is the place for you.
Cala rosa is built on a little hill over the beach, there is a main building with reception bar and restorant and the rooms are all around the gardens. There is a lovely and clean swimming pool and a tennis court (not very well kept). The food is great, big choice of meet fish and cakes, of course pasta is never missing!!! It is not very big or luxurios but it makes you feel like at home.
The staff are very kind and there is light entrateinment for kids and grown up during the evening. I would recomand this hotel to families or couples that want to spend some nice time in relax. The beach are not far from the hotel and there are two shattle that take you there (beeing on a hill you do not walk and there is not much parking space even if it cost one euro fifty per hour). The pelosa is fantastic but very crowded, if you have a car you can go to Alghero or other beaches nearby. There is another beach of the hotel is not great but the people of the diving center are nice, i'll suggest you go snorkelling to the Asinara natural reserve!Very important: if you want night life do not go there, but if you want to make the best of sea life this is a paradise!!!

“A place that makes you feel unwelcome :0(”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2009

Don´t go here, the staff are very rude!
As mentioned before on Trip Advisor the staff denied all knowledge of our booking. The girl at the front desk hardly spoke any English and she looked at us like we were a couple of aliens when we shoved her our booking. After a lot of hassle and talking to the manager we finally got our room. It made us feel terrible. The room was very plain and basic. The bathroom smelt like rotten moss and we did not bother to tell the management about that after our not so warm welcoming. The other guest were mostly Italian families with small children and every night there was some kind of bizarre candy dance with a bloke dressed up as a giant panda. We would never stay here again!
The only plus was that there was a small fridge in our room and that there was a shuttle bus from the hotel to the incredible La Pelosa beach.
I would recommend you have a car if staying here.
If going to Stintino and La Pelosa beach stay somewhere else!

“never a 4 star hotel more like a 2 + star”

This hotel is in a strange area a bit like a ghost town. Just down the road was the most beautiful beach I have ever seen which made the holiday. You definately need a car if you are visiting this area. Not a very welcoming hotel the only redeeming feature was the food. We spent a day in Alghero which is lovely and would have rather spent our time there and maybe travelled to Stintino. Not what I expected, not a very italian feel to the country and I am some-one who is well travelled and not fussy. Would rather spend an italian holiday on the mainland. Not my first or second choice holiday destination. would rather have Sorrento, Lido de Jesolo or Rome for an Italian Holiday.
