“Potentially awesome - but potential is not exploited”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2011

I have stayed with my girlfriend during June (3 days) and August (10 days)
This place is potentially a pearl, it has splendid gardens the sardinian sea with white sand, the position in fornt of the seaside is just perfect, the staff is firendly and cares a lot of providing high end service.
BUT
Out of the 2 private beaches, one is not usable because of algae with the result that when the hotel is at full capacity one beach is overpopulated.
The price you pay is enormous compared to what you get: 1) no water sports facilities 2) internet access / Wireless LAN is at PAYMENT (at crazy rates also) 3) the rooms and villas have very thin walls (you can easily hear neighbours noises/snoring) 4) cost for renting bycicles is at crazy rates also (like € 20 daily fee if I recall correctly).

Overall this place is cool and we had a very pleasant stay but definitely either they improve the above flaws or downgrade their pricing.

“Amazing stay”

We had a great time at Ismorus, the hotel is very nice, the staff is really friendly, you feel like being at home. The top is the location, we had a very clean and nice cottage in the park just in front of the sea. Swimming pool is also available, but we used to go to the pivate beach close to our cottage. I would suggest a relaxing holiday to anyone. It's not a budget accomodation but you get what you pay for. We will come back.

“Do not go there”

Absolutely does not meet 'value for money' criteria - it must be significantly cheaper assuming its quality (EUR472 for Deluxe room in the main building in June). I doubt it deserves 4 stars (as they position themselves). On the positive side - it is quiet, staff is very friendly and supportive. The weather in general is very nice in June, also water in the sea is really clean, rabbits are running around (but it is all about the nature, not the hotel)... All the rest is negative.
The beach is terrible - it is dirty, you cannot normally enter the water and swim within 50 meters due to the sea is not deep enough here (60-80 sm), and full of plants and stones - see the pictures. The choice of food in the restaurant is not reach, if you like fruits and vegetables you need to find it elsewhere, sometimes food is not fresh (breakfast ham was smelling couple of times, and personnel did not do anything to react when we informed them accordingly). Buildings, territory, equipment needs cleaning and maintenance.

“Nice hotel, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2008

I have recently spent four days at the Is Morus.
It's a nice beach resort set in a beautiful park, but it has definitely a few issues to improve.
First of all, the restaurant. I'm sure there are not many bad places to eat in Sardinia, and the restaurant at Is Morus was one of those. Service was really slow and sloppy, and we've been told that people who always had dinner at Is Morus had to choose a table the first day and keep it for the rest of their stay! Luckily, we were there just for bed/and/breakfast and had dinner at the restaurant only once - never again!
The sea close to the hotel was dirty.... I hope it was just due to the current.
I absolutely suggest to rent a car for your stay and drive to the many beautiful beaches in the area.
We had luckily been upgraded to one of the villas in the garden, and it was nice and quiet. I know that the rooms in the main building are quite noisy (walls are very thin), though, so ask for a room in a villa.

  • Liked — The park, the kindness of the concierge personnel
  • Disliked — The restaurant

“nice site pictures, dull place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2008

This hotel was the third one during our auto trip around Sardinia. We booked Urano cottage - a Junior Suite accomodation according to the hotel classification.

Location:
Santa Margherita di Pula may be not the nicest place in the South, it's better to stay somewhere near Chia with it's beaches. If you rent a car, than it is no problem to go to Chia (about 10 km) and other area atttractions. Otherwise you will be limited by the hotel territory.

Territory:
Green and well kept, but not much space, if you like long walks.

Beach:
There are actually several small beaches with nice almost white sand. But the entrance to the sea is not save (and pleasant) because of underwater stones. Swimming on windy days when the sea is rough (which happens very often and which, as we understood, is common for this island) can be reallly dangerous.

Hotel:
The main hotel building looks dull and dated, though we've never visited the rooms.
URANO cottage is actually 2 separate rooms, each for accomodation of two guests. Can be disturbing, if you're spending your time on the terrace and your neighbours are doing the same thing - no wall between two terrases, just a transparent fence in plants. Though the cottage location is nice - just above the beach - in all other aspects it does not correspond to the standards of a Junior Suite. It is a small dark room with EXTREMELY small bathroom suitable only for one person (the second can only stand at the door watching the first) with a tiny shower, which can hardly fit a person of a medium size. There is even no place for bathrobes. Be carefull taking a shower - water comes from the boiler, and hot water is REALLY hot, so it can burn the skin quite unexpectedly.

Plastic glasses (instead of glassy) in the cottage is really outrageous for EUR 600 per night.

Restaurant:
All in all - dull impression: old and sometimes broken tables they try to hide by covering them with long white table clothes; old and even dirty plates. Paper, not usual tissue napkins, poor table appointments, dirty and plane uniform of staff at the breakfast and their low professional level.

The biggest disappointment is the breakfast which does not correspond to the standart of 4-starts hotels we've ever seen. For example, you will be amazed to find on your table the price list for some extras (called "Special Breakfast menu"), where the hotel includes: espresso, cappuchino, pineapple, melon, fresh orange juice, omlette and some other things (see photos). The selection of other items at the breakfast buffet was very poor. For example, there were no musli, or dried fruits and the plate of cheese was in the list of extras. Selection of fresh fruits was also quite limited.

We've never visited a dinner in the restaurant, we had it on our cottage terrase. After the dinner, nobody even tried to collect dirty dishes until next morning, when usual housekeeping arrived.

All in all we would say that we had five-star views, but, regretably, three star accomodation - for the price that we paid for a real junior suite with fantastic views in the North of the island.

  • Liked — Views from our room, cozy beaches
  • Disliked — Underwater stones, breakfast - both buffet menu and service, room service food quality, room facilities standards.
