“Great stay - didn't disappoint”

Stayed recently in Sept which was the end of season, great time to go. Quiet, attentive and well serviced. Room was clean, tidy, well air-conditioned and big enough for the wife and I and two kids (7 and 5). Kids stayed on the mezzanine upstairs (superior garden villa) which was fine. They had own TV although we took our own content as most channels in Italian. Kids were kept busy in the pool or beach and had some great times with the girls at the kids club who were very attentive. Beach was beautiful, safe and uncrowded. Best thing for me was the food - if you love Italian food this is the place for you. We went half board and were treated to a fabulous buffet every night. Now this was no normal buffet, it was of the highest quality. Seafood, pasta, meat, desert, wine, beer - all beautiful. Breakfast was the same. Things to improve - wifi from the room, greater choice of English tv channels, pool area could do with a refresh but was more than adequate. I normally stay in good resorts and this one was up there.

“Great Village Resort”

Here are a few bits of information which may be of use (in no particular order):

1. Food and drinks are expensive, e.g. for lunch we had a ham and cheese toasted sandwich by the pool (which comes with chips), very nice but cost €8 each. There is, however, a small supermarket across the road which stocked all basics.
2. We took the trouble to learn a few useful phrases in Italian – not very difficult but works well with the waiters, some of whom speak very little English. As we have found in other countries, people respond well to any effort at speaking their language. The staff everywhere were very friendly and extremely helpful.
3. A local bus service from across the road from the main resort entrance (timetable from reception) is very useful to go to Cagliari or Pula which are worth a visit. The Archaeological remains at Nora, near Pula are about an hour’s walk from Pula although the Information Centre in Pula said 20 min !! There is a bus service but this runs infrequently.
4. The cute little motor “train” to get to the main beach ran every 15 min from 9am to 7.30 pm and was free.
5. Internet access near the Reception was only 54mbps but free to use and there were two desktop computers you could use too.

Going off season, we got a really good deal and overall had a delightful time!

“LOVELY, LOVELY, LOVELY”

Took my daughter here for 2 weeks last year and it was a marvellous holiday. The only thing I would say is pay extra for the accommodation closer to the centre - we were right out and up in the Gods and the walk was a bit like a work out. Good in one way - as the food is gorgeous - fresh, loads of choice, fresh fruit and plenty of it. We went 1/2 board and spent 30 Euros a day on lunch and a coffee - so a bit costly - especially as the water was 3 euros for a litre and it was v. hot and liquid consumption was high! We got a bus into local town Pula and went to supermarket and bought 2 litre bottles - pack of 6 for a couple of euros. Fridge stocked and replenished but charged. Rooms basic but comfortable with good showers. Pool was lovely - but could get crowded - although we always found somewhere to sunbathe. Beautifully maintained grounds and we were surrounded by gorgeous smelling herbs - which we saw the kitchen staff going and cutting freshly everyday -and you could taste it in the food. Well stocked and very tempting mini shopping area - but not for food/water. - clothes, pottery, souvenirs, newspapers sun lotions etc., The scenery is stunning and so green with vivid coloured flowers. We went end August/ 1st week September and the weather was perfect - one night/ morning of rain and storm - we got up and took picture of the amount of and rate the water poured down - at 3,00am!. Unfortunately did cause a mini flood in some areas and the kids pool turned an unwelcoming muddy colour - as set on hillside and the rain washed debris into it from above - main pools fine. There was a train that took you down and back to the beach (it went on the road)! - it was fun and reliable - every 10 minutes. The beach was private and really nice and there was a towel service at both the beach and the pool - you had a card and handed it to the towel guy and he gave you clean towels and you handed them back and got a card back - it worked really well. Would recommend this place - great for famillies and couples.

Room Tip: Pay extra for room nearer centre. Buy water and soft drinks at supermarket in Pula

I really cannot understand the poor reviews . Whilst the rooms might have been better , the location , the food , the beach , the kids club and the food were all excellent .
