“Loved it”

This hotel is a hidden gem for those who love relaxing on the beach all day. It's got its own private wonderful emerald water beach at your feet. The beach boy however was the laziest boy ever, he would not care to help you with opening the hard parasol nor asking if you need something, a shame. The rooms are nice and cosy those overlooking the sea really outstanding, some have a Jacuzzi in the patio.very nice infinity pool and lots of sun loungers for your chilling out, a small spa which was impossible to book always busy busy ! The restaurant had a fantastic position: a large patio literally on the beach affording breathtaking views but the general decor is dated and lacking of charm (a pity) - they should improve lighting quite poor. The food was very good, copious and the staff extremely kind and professional. Very good breakfast but not bread toaster .... the reception girls were really nice charming and extremely helpful. The area around the hotel is unfortunately not interesting but a short drive to Santa maria Navarrese is worth a visit (10 km). Overall a very nice boutique hotel with courteous owners and all the staff (except the beach boy) was very attentive and nice to us. To reccommend to beach lovers, there is not much else to do.

Room Tip: those overlooking the sea

“Not much around the area, but the beach is on the doorstep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

We stayed here after reading the good reviews on here and because of an all-inclusive deal. Normally I wouldn't do the half-board deals, but this was great value.

Arbatax is definitely not the most interesting place in Sardinia: driving into the town you'll probably feel like you've got the wrong way... after going past the industrial parks you arrive at the beach and it's completely different. There is not much around the area, but you don't really need to leave the hotel if it's only for a few nights.

The beach is right on the doorstep - almost feels like your own private beach - and there's also a pool, spa/jacuzzi and sauna too (spa was broken when we visited). The restaurant has a full glass window that shows off the beach, which is lovely for the breakfast.

Although the food isn't particularly exciting you do get very decent food and lots of it. The inclusive dinner for half-board was 4 courses each night and the menu changed every night. There is also a huge buffet selection for salads and vegetables.

We didn't realise how out of season April/May is in Sardinia - it really feels like majority of the island shuts down until June/July - so swimming in the beach or pool is pretty much not an option. We tried once, but it was like ice and could only last a minute.

The hotel feels a little dated in parts, but overall it's a lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: Any view of the beach would be excellent.

“Excellent Hotel”

We would like to recommend La Bitta Hotel. An excellent hotel in a very quiet area of Central East Sardinia. If you are looking for a relaxing place with no shopping frills, this is your location. The hotel offers a fantastic outdoor activities (nearby hikes, mountaineering, and great walks), swimming pool, SPA, massages, Jacuzzi, etc. The nearest city is Tortoli. Sardinia is also known for its great outdoor activities, beautiful beaches and gorgeous emerald sea. The hotel is clean, the food is exceptional, the service is outstanding. We selected the half board but B&B is also an option. We would definably go back. I would not go in July and August as most locals would descend to Sardinia for vacation and prices are higher.

“Perfect Beach, nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

We drove to La Bitta from Olbia airport and were surprised how remote the hotel is (it took us about 2.5 hours). You have to cross a mountain range to get to the valley were the hotel is located. We therefore didnt do as many day trips as we were planning to. Which in the end was a good thing as you can relax perfectly at La Bitta.

The pool area is nice and it really is only a few steps to the sandy beach. Our hotel room was quite basic and the bathroom very small, having said that we didnt spent any time in the room anyway. On TV you can find many German channles but only 1 English channel (BBC world). Internet charges are quite high I thought.

The breakfast buffet is truly excellent and I dont think I ever had breakfast with a nicer view! Options for dinner are limited outside the hotel and we hadnt booked half board. There is not much of a village around the hotel so dont be disappointed. There is a Pizzeria up the road, it looks basic but the Pizza is execellent and very cheap. A mini supermarket is about 15 minutes away by foot.

The staff was very friendly, the room clean and the beach stunning - so all it all a lovley place for a very relaxing time. ENJOY

“La Bitta - where all your dreams are fulfill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

I stayed here with my family (husband and a 7 year old son), and I can say that it was the most beautiful place I have ever been. The hotel is situated in a nice and quiet gulf, even for bathing is very nice, because the waves do not hit the beach. The rooms are nicely arranged in typical Sardinian style, the bed was comfortable, air condition worked just perfect and the room cleaning was done in a very discret way. Towels were changed each day, beach towels are also available, shampoo and body lotion prepared in the bathroom, I would say that we were like at home!
The restaurant is incredible, with a wide variety of food types, each evening has a "topic" as a basis. For i.e. Sea evening: the buffet contained all kind of sea food and vegetables, delicious all of them. You cannot eat that much kind as many types were presented. The 4 course menu is unbelievable, delicious and arranged in a manner that would take your breath. We were extremly lucky because we got a marvelous waiter, Mr. TIZIANO, I would recommend him to all restaurants. He was very polite, friendly and fast at the same time. Took care of us for 10 days and my son cried when saying goodbye, because he was already missing him. He fulfilled all our requests, beside of this we could have a nice chat in italian, but if we would have wished in English or French too. Besides Mr. Tiziano, all the other members of the restaurant staff were extremly friendly and loved children, they always had a joke or nice smile to all of us:-)
The reception staff was just perfect, helpful, however sometimes I would have been expected from them to inform us about certain programs more directly. There is a room where you can find all sort of info about the things that are going on, they also organised trips and contacted the newspaper man, who brought the papers every morning.
I would highly recommend this hotel to the families, there were many children around the pool and the beach, the safe guard is staying on the beach all day and in the afternoon serving chilled red melone, delicious in 38 degrees hot weather.
Only one thing: if someone wants to go in the city, or just hang around, you cannot do it, there is nothing like this in the area. These are gulfs with hotels and all facitilies within the hotel but nothing outside the resort area.
In the hotel there was music each evening, nice aquarium with sea fish and lobsters, but no noice, music, disco.
We travelled quite a lot to arrive to Arbatax, as we drove from Hungary to Livorno and then taking the "traghetto" Moby to arrive in Olbia + 3-4 hours drive on a magical and very curving mountain road. But I can say it all worth it! We are recalling our nice memories and I think we will get back soon - but this time flying to Tortoli airport:-)
Congratulations to all the staff, and management and thank you for making our holidays unforgettable.
