“Better than expected - Not your typical Best Western”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Having travelled a lot for work, the idea of staying at a Best Western was not exactly exciting. I have to say though, I was pleasantly suprised at the room size, the cleanliness, the service, and the more modern touches. The breakfast buffet was sparse, but had the staples, the cookies when you check in are always a nice touch, and the free internet is always a must for me. Also, the free shuttle to Havard Square is nice, though make sure you call them when you want to be picked up, otherwise they do not come on a regular schedule like they may let on.

I wouldn't come here expecting the best hotel experience in Boston, but I would definately look past the Best Western stereotype. Overall a nice hotel for reasonable prices.

“Shower woudln't drain right, out of waffle mix”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Got an ok deal on priceline bidding for 3* hotel for $86 but after staying at the Hotel Indigo for $68 that was a MUCH nicer hotel. . We thought this place was more like 2 1/2 * as there were too many issues and I'm not one to complain. The room was just ok and dated, average size, with a basic bathroom and I was surprised the toilet seat was peeling. The shower was tricky and even though we just wanted the shower on, water would come from the shower and also the bathtub faucet and it wouldn't drain so you're standing in 4" of water. The towels were very rough. Everyone here raved about the buffet breakfast and I was looking forward to making waffles but nope, they were out of waffle mix. How hard is it to keep waffle mix on hand ? We were not charged for parking.

“Wonderful service, great value, will visit again soon!”

I stayed at the Tria while visiting my newborn nephew and I couldn't be happier! I spotted it when I started my travel plans, and even after researching a ton of hotel booking services I had to come back. The combination of price and services plus the businesses around the hotel made it my final choice. Boy am I happy I did that!
The hotel is surrounded by an incredibly useful (even if it doesn't look very fancy) plaza: Whole Foods, Starbucks (connected to the hotel, you don't even have to walk outside), Trader Joe's, CVS Pharmacy, Japanese restaurant, department store (I believe it is a Target).... everything in the same block or across the street. It was perfect!
The free shuttle is a huge plus, because it takes you to the metro station (if you like walking it IS within walking distance) or to Harvard square. The driver is the sweetest man you'll ever meet, he truly GETS what customer service is about. I wish I remembered his name, but he truly deserves kudos for making the hotel management look good. Be downstairs 5 minutes before departure time, or you'll miss the shuttle. They keep to the schedule.
The hotel in itself is very pretty, simple but really nice and comfortable, from the couches in the lobby to two free computers for guests with internet and a printer, there is FREE tea and coffee -a good variety of both- in the lobby 24 hours (the water is not too hot in the middle of the night but still!) along with a plate of cookies to share with guests and even doggy treats for those traveling with pets (the hotel allows pets but I never in 2 weeks was bothered by any of them).
The room was big and very comfortable, with a large desk, FREE WiFi that works flawlessly, a nice coffee maker with a huge mug, the bed and pillows were a dream, the cleaning crew was really sweet and respectful, and for 2 weeks I was quite happy to call the Tria my home.
The front desk staff was very professional, and they helped with things even if it didn't relate to my hotel stay.
The FREE breakfast deserves a paragraph of its own. All sorts of fruits, breads, juices and milk, eggs, sausages, home fries, even a waffle maker with ready-to-go batter. And the Portuguese man that manages it... priceless! He is so funny! And really nice, he will get you what you need and he kept the food hot, fresh, everything's clean and delicious.
I've traveled all over the place and the Tria is one of the best values I found. I can't wait to go back!

“Comfortable Hotel”

We stayed two nights at this hotel. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, and accomodated our request for two connecting rooms for our family. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The best feature was the included breakfast buffet available in a room off the lobby. In addition to cold cereals, juice, meats and breakfast breads, there were hot scrambled eggs, sausages, home fries, and make-your-own waffles. A nice way to start the day.

“Really nice hotel”

We spent the weekend here 2 weeks ago. This is my second experience with a Best Western. The rooms were nice but the bathroom was a little dated. The people there really made the hotels!! The front desk was very helpful especially Robert the overnight guy! He hooked us up with takeout when we got in from going out the first night. Nelson was awesome. He took us to Harvard Square and picked us up. Later he drove us to dinner too. Annette at the bar was great!! Thanks! She was very friendly and gave us alot of suggestions of where to go. The breakfast was awesome. The person in charge was attentive and everything was hot and always filled. I was surprised that they didn't have any decorations for the holidays. I noticed that a great deal of people stay here for work. I think it would have been nice for it to feel a tad more homey. Overall, great place!
