It was my GPS' point of interest function that found this hotel when we needed to stop for the night on the way to Switzerland. we trusted the "four stars" sign, so we took two rooms at 89 Euros each. The room in itself has the comfort standard of a one-star-hotel: except the minibar was broken in both rooms. loose-screwed door knobs, no soundproofing whatsoever. We could even hear the neighbor farting in his room. One can park his/her car just by the room entrance, so it was REALLY noisy from all the cars passing only a few meters away from our bed. We happilly had earplugs, so we managed to sleep a part of the night.
At 9 in the evening, we felt hungry, and as the hotel was in the middle of nowhere, I called the reception and asked at what time the restaurant stops serving, the receptionist said 22:00
When I got to the restaurant at 21:20, the waitress - who doesn't speak but italian - after a long discussion with her colleague, and after having both looked at their watches quite a few times, decided that they offer us only a choice of three cold starters... that she scribbled on a dirty piece of paper, no prices. I asked to see the menu anyway... another long discussion with her colleague, then finally she brought one to me, and pointed to the three (horrible) items we could choose from.
on the back, the menu indicated opening hour was till ten-thirty!
We had no choice, tired and hungry, we chose a plate of spaghetti with tomato sauce to go (room service), simple, and easy to get right, we thought. Well, We were wrong... The spaghetti was way too undercooked (mind you, we know what Al Dente means, and we like it that way), the portions very small, and it simply had no taste at all. No pepper, no salt, no grated cheese, no spoon...
When in the morning i asked the name of the manager, the receptionist refused to give it to me saying that it was the manager's instructions! so, No way to complain... Luckily we have TRIPADVISOR!
Well people... you've been warned...
