Flew out of Heathrow on a cold a bleak Monday morning in early February - Thats just how many Mondays are.
Hired a car from the airport and made our way to the Blue Lagoon Clinic for the first night of our 6 day vacation.
The clinic was easy to find and set in its own amazing landscape with views across to the main Blue Lagoon resort and the geothermal spa.
The clinic itself only has 15 rooms and so not at all crowded. The breakfast was continental style, easy enough.
Access into their own private lagoon was so so special and the single best reason to stay there.
Only 3 other people in the water, silica mud on the floor of the pool made it an experience in itself as you walk through the warm water.
I say warm, it varies between hot and warm depending on the spot you find yourself in.
Lots of little shelves to stop and relax, just looking up at the sky and feeling the snow in our case falling on your head and face.
Rub some mud into your face, arms and body and just chill out.
We came out after an hour or so with skin that was so soft.
We all said it was worth the 3 hour flight just for this experience.
Complimentary access to the main Blue lagoon made an extra bonus.
The main lagoon is much wider, longer and has many more people in it. It also has sauna and steam rooms, but at £25 per head to get in, its worth staying in the clinic and having free access included in the room price.
A brilliant experience to either start or end the holiday and close enough to the airport.
