“Great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

In a nut shell this is a good place to stay while traveling. We just discovered Drury Inn's on this trip and are very pleased. Nice pool area - though the pool and the hot tub are a bit small. Great hot breakfast for a free hotel breakfast, you won't need to eat lunch. Clean, pleasant room. Nice staff. Comfy lobby. You get a lot for the price.

The only cons I could think of were that the dinning room filled up during breakfast so we sat in the lobby chairs - but the food did not run out. Pool was a bit crowded but maybe it was our timing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not over looking the pool (it's noisy and does not provide for a view or access t...

“A great night's stay”

In town visiting friends and opted to give the Drury Inn a try after seeing all the positive reviews, as well as reading about their breakfast buffet and 5:30 Kickback.

The Drury definitely lived up to the positive reviews for us. The front desk was polite, got us checked in quickly and were always there to answer questions about different sites and restaurants around town. The room was a very good size and the bed very comfortable. Didn't notice any noise from any of the other rooms around us.

The 5:30 Kickback was a spread of different appetizer-type foods. There were hot dogs, baked potatoes, salad and snacks (pretzels/chips) every day and then other items added depending on what day it was. Friday night when we were there was a nacho bar and the Saturday night was macaroni and cheese and chili. You also got a card at check in that was good for three alcoholic drinks (beer, wine, basic mixed drinks like a screwdriver, or 7&7) and there were also unlimited soft drinks (Pepsi products). Could easily be enough food to constitute an entire dinner or a nice snack before heading out for somewhere nicer.

The breakfast was a spread of scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, french toast sticks and waffle irons for fresh waffles. There was also cereal, oatmeal, donuts, coffee cake and drinks were coffee, tea and juice. Very filling and a nice breakfast -- although there is a Bob Evans about two blocks one direction and an IHop two blocks the other way if you want something more elaborate.

The pool area and hot tub were not large, but definitely more than enough to get the job done. The area is kept neat and appears to be very well maintained.

Perhaps the only drawback appears to be wide fluctuations in the rates for the Drury. Some weekends I've checked there are rates as low as about $80/night, while other weekends the same room is going for about $130 -- even though other, comparable hotels in the area don't have this fluctuation. Still, will definitely be giving the Drury strong consideration on my next trip to Springfield.

“Drury didn't let me down...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

I've had good experience with Drury's before and this one didn't let me down. The front desk staff were very nice. The cleaning lady...wish I could remember her name...did an excellent job on my room and was very friendly. The staff during breakfast and the 5:30 'snack time' were very helpful and eager to serve,

The room was good quality. My only concerns were that the recliner chair in 308 was a little worn looking and the hardline cable for internet access didn't work. The wireless internet worked very well.
The room was a bit stuffy. The AC & heat worked fine, but no circulation of fresh air.

The bed was nice and comfortable with a large assortment of various firmness pillows. The bathroom was nice and sizeable. Having a microwave and a fridge in the room were a nice bonus. I usually don't like hotel cable selections, but they had a good variety and didn't make me want to run to the AMC accross the road.

Despite them doing construction, I really could not hear any of their work. The walls and floors are nice and thick.

Location at first seemed like it would be bad, nestled in the armpit of the interstate and a 4-lane highway, I thought the hotel would be blasted by traffic noise...it wasn't. Next door is a 24 hour Steak-n-Shake, McDonalds just down the road and a few other eating places all within 1/2 mile. Plus a small strip mall across the 4-lane.

The Breakfast and 5:30 snacks were pretty good. As hotel breakfastes go, this was one of the better ones. Food was fresh and replenished when needed. Hot or cold when it was supposed to be.

I didn't get a chance to visit the pool or excercise room.

Room Tip: If you want a room with a view, don't get a room facing south. The large smokestacks aren't...

“Loved Our Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

This is the only place to stay in Springfield. The staff, absolutely #1.
Room very clean and comfortable. The food - restaurant quality. Great location. Price - with or without food - best bang for the buck. Will definately stay there again.
