Spent one night here with my husband in late October. It is a clean hotel with adequate facilities....no fridge or microwave though like some other Best Westerns. This didn't bother us too much in October and we were only staying one night so we survived. The hotel has an ice machine anyway. They also have an indoor pool but we didn't avail of it. Our bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower was good too. Breakfast was okay....no cooked eggs or sausages, just biscuits and gravy for hot food. The usual cereals, bagels, pastries and some fruit were provided.
We did use this hotel to cash in our (first) Best Western points. We have been collecting them since 2009. Alas there was a problem with our points! On checking we were told that our points had expired as we hadn't activated our account for over 12 months. The hotel staff were very puzzled by this and had never heard of points having an expiry date! We emailed Ireland about the issue and though we were told that yes our points had expired they were prepared to reinstate them THIS time! This is an issue that we intend taking up with best western.ie when
we get home! The hotel did charge our credit card for our night's stay while we awaited a reply to our email and were not prepared to wait till the morning of our check out. They did give us a very good rate of 55 dollars I have to say and we got an immediate refund when the issue re the points was resolved the following morning. The lady who rang our room explained about it being company policy to charge the card after checking in rather than before checking out. We stated that since our card had already been scanned for incidentals that there should be no problem as they had all our details and so could easily wait until the morning to see if the issue re our points was resolved. I accept that it wasn't a big deal and we were treated very well at the reception desk etc but I do think that a little bit of "thinking outside the box" and a bit of "bending " of the rules was called for in this instance.
I should of course say that this hotel proved to be very handy for seeing all the Lincoln sites in Springfield. We were delighted and pleasantly surprised by all the area had to offer. We toured the Lincoln homestead, Lincoln's tomb and war memorials and the Presedential museum (a "must see "and do allow about 3 hours for a comprehensive tour). We had glorious autumn sunshine which added to the pleasure of our visit. Do allow plenty of time for Springfield....we were tight enough on time as we hadn't fully done our homework on this area!

The front desk was very helpful during a very busy time. The room was clean and neat with good appointments. WIFI was very strong, no drop outs. Would return.

the motel website listed several restaurants as "adjacent"-------the closest is McDonalds over .5 miles away and most nearly a mile. We chose the motel thinking we could walk to dinner and had to end up ordering pizza delivered.
There are no laundry facilities, ice machine on second floor was broken, no microwave or frig, and WIFI signal only about 2 bars.
King room would probably be Ok if it was $59 but not for $89+tax.

We had to cancel our travel plans six days before the scheduled trip. I called to cancel, and was told that we needed to cancel seven days in advance to avoid the FULL charge (for two nights).

I suppose this is actually Worst Western's policy, not the individual motel's, but it certainly made me avoid making reservations at any Worst Western in the future.
