We had to cancel our travel plans six days before the scheduled trip. I called to cancel, and was told that we needed to cancel seven days in advance to avoid the FULL charge (for two nights).

I suppose this is actually Worst Western's policy, not the individual motel's, but it certainly made me avoid making reservations at any Worst Western in the future.

My wife and I were visiting Springfield to take in the Abraham Lincoln historic sites. We took the wrong exit and found ourselves in the middle of the annual "Route 66 Mother Road Festival", surrounded by dozens of classic cars. No Kidding! We were in a parade, and Springfield's Finest did nothing to help us despite being stationed at every cross street. I called the hotel and explained my problem. The night clerk, Evelyn, asked my location then STAYED ON THE PHONE as she guided me out of my predicament. She didn't hang up until I was in eyesight of the hotel. The next day, she recommended a fantastic restaurant for our anniversary dinner. Thank you, Evelyn!

After a torrential down pour on a motorcycle we checked in. Found out they didn't have guest laundry to dry our wet clothes. The owner said to bring them up when we were ready and they would dry them so we didn't have to pack them wet. When we took them up the girl at the desk offered to wash them for us also and any other we had. So we took up a couple more items and she did our laundry free of charge. You can't beat that for service. They even let us park the Harley under the canopy in front of the office window so they could keep an eye on it. We definitely would stay there again.

This is our second night here. The beds are very nice and firm but not hard. The four pillows make you want to sink into them. The room was a kind with a sofa (I think it is a sleeper but we don't need it). The workers are very friends and accomodating. The rooms are quiet. We are only a few miles from downtown attractions. The pool seems all right but it a little cool for us but kids seem to like it. They allowed us to bring our little dogs (for a fee). The breakfast is all right - cereal, donuts, biscuits and gravey, orange and apple juice, bagels and a few other things. I took a few pictures of the room but can't seem to get it on this site. I can e-mail someone if they want it.
