Checked Tripadvisor before traveling to Springfield, Ill and was not disappointed.
Our group wanted basic rooms for the night and all members were more than satisfied with the rooms, rate and location.
The staff was great and the restaurant recommendation( Lake Pointe Grill) a good choice.

This is one of the cleanest motels we have ever been in--reasonable rate, helpful desk personnel. Just the basics, soap and towels, but adequate supply given. If you just need a safe, healthful place to sleep without any frills, this is it. We would definitely return.

Clean, for the most part, and somewhat updated. The area around the hotel seems nice, with foodspots and gas stations nearby.

Only issue here is limited amenities. They claim they have an extended lineup of TV channels - but that is not the case. They didn't even have Travel Channel or Sci Fi channels in their line-up of about 20 channels. Not a place to take kids - as the TV line-up is non-existant for them. No Nickelodeon, Sprout, PBS Kids, Disney Channels - nothing. Just cartoon network (and we know that is not appropriate for kids after dinner time). There is no shampoo provided (as in all Motel 6 hotels), no "do not disturb" signs, no fridge/micro, and they CHARGE you extra for using the Internet service.

I would stay there again for a night - but not for any extended period of time. Would not be practical for a week or extended stay.

(I travel all over the country with my job, and I contribute on EVERY hotel I stay in. Trip Advisor has been a great tool for me, and I contribute fairly, for both good and bad facilities.)

If you are needing a hotel in Springfield look no further than this Motel 6.
Built 11 years ago as a proto type, it is a three story hotel with interior rooms, an elevator and a luggage dolly. Rooms a not a small as the other reviews would have you think. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom is roomy. Air Conditioning Ice Cold ( August In Illinois)

Hotel has truck parking and a Hen House Restaurant in the same lot.

Free Coffee in the morning, lots of ice in the machines and friendly staff to help.

Room was very clean and comfortable. This is not a 4 star hotel but if you are looking for comfortable, clean and affordable rooms...this is the place.
