“Great Hotel on Crete island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This Last September (09/11) I went with my hubby to a vacation deal on Crete (Greece) in Sissy, Sissy Bay Hotel. The hotel have 2 sides: one to the beach and another to the pool. We stayed in the side to the sea and it was wonderful, the balcony was with the face to the ocean and you could sit there for hours. Food was great and with nice variety. Just 2 issues that there were no beach towels for free (just for rent) and remote control to TV with deposit. No private beach of the hotel was there. It needed 5 min walking to get to the beach.

Room Tip: You should choose the beach side which is much better than the pool side across the road

“Lovely Holiday”

A quite relaxing 2 weeks holiday in Crete at Sissi Bay Hotel. Quiet and close to unspoilt location, awesome sea views, friendly and most helpful staff, and delicious food, what could we ask more? The 4 swimming pools are great and we definitely recommend the SPA massages, we felt so relaxed after having them. The Cretan Night is not to be missed, we had so much fun!
Big efharisto to the Sissi Bay staff, we're missing Crete badly already and looking forward to coming back soon!

Sissi and Pedro

Room Tip: Higher floor sea view rooms are worth the extra-price.

“End of Season Booking”

We booked the hotel all inclusive last minute and then read the reviews, We were very worried about what we were going to find, but we were pleasantly surprised, The reception staff were polite and helpful, the reception was spotlessly clean my only gripe would be that they do allow smoking in the reception although they have no smoking signs displayed. We were shown to our room, which was a good size, the bathroom had a cracked basin and the shower didnt work properly. The food was good, plenty of it with cooked or continental breakfast, lunch and a selection of hot food for evening meals or salads. Unfortunately Crete closes at the end of October and they had started to pack away sun beds chairs and things, but the bad weather might have had something to do with that. There was nothing at all to do there so our evenings were over the road at Jimmys bar or next door at the Jolly Roger, although to eat or drink out now in Greece is quite expensive. We hired a car from STOP at end of season rates and spent a few days touring (in the rain). All in all for what we paid fuly inclusive we got what we wanted.

“Very quiet location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Returned last week from a 2 week A/I stay at the Sissi Bay hotel. We were given room 501 - lovely room but on top of the kitchens and we had a massive extractor fan on our roof. Thankfully, when I went to complain we were given another room 703 which was by the adult only pool and very quiet. It was a much smaller room but as others have said, how much time do you spend in your room anyway. As it was coming to the end of the season, the hotel was starting to wind down. Only one of the bars was open and there was no entertainment in the night.(except a quiz put on by Jimmy 1 night a week and the cretian evening which you had to pay 10euros for). The food was o.k. always a variety, the dining area is small, I would imagine at the height of the season it must be a bit manic. There are cats at the hotel and they were a pain - coming into the dining area and into your room if you left the door or patio open. The rooms were clean and the cleaners came 6 days a week. Must say that the staff are really helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. Sissi is a small fishing village, if you are looking for a lively holiday, this is not for you. Must mention the Jolly Roger pub which is next to the Sissi Bay Hotel - big thanks to Danielle for opening up at 8.00am in the morning for us to watch the Rugby. There are 3 bays nearby, but only one of them is sandy and that is the one which is the furthest away. The weather unfortunately turned when we were there and the last three days were wet and windy. Finally, would rate the Sissi Bay as more 2-3 star hotel.

“Great Time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

We have just returned, and we have never ever reported on any where we have stayed before, but felt we had to after all the garbage written below by people expecting a palce for budget prices. We went all inclusive and never went hungry, if there was any problems with anything the staff soon corrected it. We had a a great time, Food was like pub food but we didnt expect anything else, the drinks were ok, and the hotel was fine, It isnt a 4 star but how many are there in Crete for that price.

Jimmy was great in the Tropical bar and Remizzo and Hemmingways worth a visit in the harbour area

The Harbour / Village was fantastic and great food can be had anywhere. Go there and enjoy.
