Recently returned from this hotel and was very happy with our break. The hotel was booked as a 4 star and states it is 5, but if you travel, you'll know that what other countries call 3, 4 or 5 star isn't always what you can expect within the UK, but it was to a fairly high standard.
The accommodation was very good, comfortable bed and very clean. The bathroom provided a multi-functioning shower (body jets, hand held and overhead options) and there was a magnifying mirror for shaving / make-up, although the lighting could have been better.
There are a number of pools around the complex which generally means that you have have the kind of relaxation that you want, quiet or otherwise.
I found the standard of food to be good, with a number of staples always available, but also with daily variety. When compared to the eateries that we visited outside, the range of food available looked to be similar to that which you could get at tavernas or restaurants elsewhere in the village or around the island.
Included with the items that you might expect for breakfast was a range of omelettes which were cooked as you waited, similarly with fried eggs, and more varieties of bread than I can source at my local bakery!
If all inclusive, there is the opportunity to go a la carte one evening. We opted for the Mediterranean Restaurant (Pegalos?) and were sorely disappointed, as were some others we spoke to, it appears however that the Italian restaurant was to a better standard
The alcohol which is available is fairly poor quality but there are international brands available, but generally there is an additional change for these.
One downside was the charge made for a key for the safe in the room (30 euro)!
As we were looking for a relaxing break, to do as little as possible, the location wasn't really an issue for us. Although fairly isolated, the town is nearby, but although small does have many cafes and bars (Ormos is a modern cafe on the harbour front which does a mean cocktail, and Peggy Gordons is a lively and friendly bar with quizes and live music).
We chose to hire a car one day, following a previous review, we avoided Budget, who were located within the hotel, and went with New Line, where Violet (from Edinburgh) looked after us and offered a bit of discount.
There is nightly entertainment available within the hotel and the staff work very hard at making sure you have a good time, with something for everyone, from karaoke to bingo to music quiz nights.
We found the staff to be very pleasant and keen to assist and they worked hard at trying to meet the needs of the guests.
To sum up, we had a relaxing time in pleasant surroundings and lovely, helpful staff, we would visit again.
Room Tip: Avoid south facing rooms, they'll get very warm!
