“lovely for a relax and recharge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

We stayed for 8 days and we had a nice and large room which had a mezzanine floor (called a Maisonette) which could sleep 4 persons, although we were only the 2 of us. As the downstairs bed was only queen- sized, we moved soon to the upstairs twin bed arrangement.
The pool was located within a stone throw from our room, where we spend most of our time relaxing , reading our books. A wonderful setting for our intended low intensity leisure activities. The staff were kind and prompt in their service, which was much appreciated as we stayed there at the end of the holiday season and they must thus have been a little jaded.
The food was buffet style and was tasty and with a wide variety, including a vegetarian selection.
We can recommend this hotel and as we had booked our accomodation via "last minute holidays", we managed to get a good deal for the 8 days.
The beach was about 100 meter from the hotel so if you want to be right on the beach you have to look elsewhere.

Also public transport is located quite a distance from the hotel so a rent a car would do well.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

I stayed here in October 2011 for 1 week. In our party there were 4 adults and 1 child.

The Hotel was relatively quiet when we stayed which was lovely. The hotel was very clean. The rooms were very nice with air conditioning. The only hitch with the air conditioning was that it worked on the card key and a motion sensor. The card key was not a problem but the motion sensor was. Obviously during the night the air conditioning automatically switched itself off! The rooms had plenty of hanging space for clothes but no drawers and not enough hangers.

The restaurant had a lovely selection every meal. Even with the lovely selection there was one evening where my mother in law couldn't find anything that she liked but the chef was more than happy to make her an omelette.

The restaurant staff were excellent. The plates were cleared quickly and getting additional drinks during the meal wasn't a problem. However the only drinks served in the restaurant were wine, beer or soft drinks.

The entertainment staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. In particular Andrei Beldiman made our stay very enjoyable.

The reception staff were very helpful. Giving advice on trips, spa, buses, local amenities and even arranging a fruit basket and bottle of wine for my mother in laws birthday. We also ordered and paid for a birthday cake for her birthday which they brought out after our evening meal. The cake was beautiful and made on the premises and decorated with icing and a candle. This was a little expensive at 30 euro but worth it.

The hotel was situated just outside of the harbour - about a 10-15 minute walk round to the harbour. The harbour was beautiful and within easy reach, Not much to do in the village but lots of nice little shops that were willing to give discounts (probably because it was coming to the end of the season).

Will definitely visit again.

“Quiet, relaxing break :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Recently returned from this hotel and was very happy with our break. The hotel was booked as a 4 star and states it is 5, but if you travel, you'll know that what other countries call 3, 4 or 5 star isn't always what you can expect within the UK, but it was to a fairly high standard.

The accommodation was very good, comfortable bed and very clean. The bathroom provided a multi-functioning shower (body jets, hand held and overhead options) and there was a magnifying mirror for shaving / make-up, although the lighting could have been better.

There are a number of pools around the complex which generally means that you have have the kind of relaxation that you want, quiet or otherwise.

I found the standard of food to be good, with a number of staples always available, but also with daily variety. When compared to the eateries that we visited outside, the range of food available looked to be similar to that which you could get at tavernas or restaurants elsewhere in the village or around the island.

Included with the items that you might expect for breakfast was a range of omelettes which were cooked as you waited, similarly with fried eggs, and more varieties of bread than I can source at my local bakery!

If all inclusive, there is the opportunity to go a la carte one evening. We opted for the Mediterranean Restaurant (Pegalos?) and were sorely disappointed, as were some others we spoke to, it appears however that the Italian restaurant was to a better standard

The alcohol which is available is fairly poor quality but there are international brands available, but generally there is an additional change for these.

One downside was the charge made for a key for the safe in the room (30 euro)!

As we were looking for a relaxing break, to do as little as possible, the location wasn't really an issue for us. Although fairly isolated, the town is nearby, but although small does have many cafes and bars (Ormos is a modern cafe on the harbour front which does a mean cocktail, and Peggy Gordons is a lively and friendly bar with quizes and live music).

We chose to hire a car one day, following a previous review, we avoided Budget, who were located within the hotel, and went with New Line, where Violet (from Edinburgh) looked after us and offered a bit of discount.

There is nightly entertainment available within the hotel and the staff work very hard at making sure you have a good time, with something for everyone, from karaoke to bingo to music quiz nights.

We found the staff to be very pleasant and keen to assist and they worked hard at trying to meet the needs of the guests.

To sum up, we had a relaxing time in pleasant surroundings and lovely, helpful staff, we would visit again.

Room Tip: Avoid south facing rooms, they'll get very warm!

“A wonderful Hotel, perhaps not fully worth its 5 Star rating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We had a wonderful stay in the Vasia Beach hotel. Huge room, great food, friendly and helpful staff.

We arrived late in the evening, but they still provided us with a salad meal, and a pudding.

My wife availed herself of the Spa treatment, which she said was good value for money.

The other restaurants where you had to book separately were ok, but nothing special.

A short walk takes you to a beautiful small resort which is truly "Old Greece" Visit Peggy Gordon's bar where you will have a wonderful evening's entertainment from mine host Cavan. An Irish Bar which is, unusually, owned by an Irishman.

The most important thing is, we would go back again.

“Good 4 star hotel but not a 5 star.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

Was there from 13 th october for one week, myself ,wife and 16 year old daughter.Paid extra for a junior suite which consisted of a bedroom and un-suite on two different floor levels with a really big balcony, all in all very nice.new bed linen and towels every day.
Buffet style food for all meals and the food was very good,we were also entitled to a meal in one of two different restaurants within the grounds but didn`t bother as we were happy in the buffet restaurant.2 or 3 pool areas which were kept clean and tidy but no beach in front of the hotel, there was a shuttle bus to take you to a beach area but we didn`t go.Entertainment was poor.
Bad points that say its not 5 star.
Mini bar in room was not re-stocked
Could not get bottled water anywhere only small cups
Pool towels only changed every second day.
We did enjoy our holiday but one week was enough,Sissi has a lovely harbour area with a few shops.

Room Tip: junior suites are good and are also in the main hotel building so you have easy access to everything
