“Excellent accomodations and staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed downtown to attend a wedding reception and celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the front desk manager, Kellen, was super accomodating and friendly. We stayed in a Loft Suite, which is a huge two-story room with a kitchen and a fireplace; if you can appreciate the historic building and a few creaks of stairs, you will love the room. The evening reception was great ( as was breakfast in the morning) and Chris, the bartender, so so friendly that we ended our night at the hotel lounge, even with so many other establishments we enjoy in the Old Market. The shuttle service and valets were prompt and catered to our needs- they have a shuttle to the casinos across the river where our reception was, though we had the casino come pick us up. We had a great evening away and we recommend this hotel to anyone staying downtown! The staff is wonderful!!!

Room Tip: The suites are considerably bigger than the standard rooms and all standard rooms only have a shower...

“Nice Stay”

Arrival- Great timing and friendly service upon arrival. We were picked up very quickly from the airport by the hotel shuttle and our driver was very personable.

Check-in- Check in was very quick. We were given room 103, a very short walk from the counter. We were not given any information about the hotel or the surrounding area.

Room- The room was spacious and comfortable. Downstairs was a couch, bar area, and the room had a mini-fridge. There was also a full walk in closet for coats. Everything was clean. Upstairs there was a king bed, long bench (likely covering A/C ductwork), a sitting chair, and a bathroom. The area was fine but a bit dark because there were only two lights by the bed and one by the closet. It could use more lighting. The bathroom area looked a bit worn. The tub drain wasn't attached, the tiles were cracked, and overall it just looked like it needed to be refreshed.

Sleep Quality- the bed was very comfortable. We requested an extra blanket and that made it nice and warm. The downside were the windows in the king room that didn't keep the light out in the morning. Luckily the windows face south, but it wasn't as dark as I would have expected.

Location- The hotel was in a nice location. It was in downtown, but only three blocks from the west portion of the Old Market. We were able to walk and it was very well lit. The shuttle will bring guests anywhere within a 3 mile radius and because of where the hotel was, we never needed anything but the shuttle.

Overall- this was a nice hotel, but there were some things that prevent it from being five stars. Overall the best part of the hotel was the friendly service. The key opportunity for the hotel is that some of the areas need a bit more refreshing and attention to detail.

Room Tip: If you book a king parlor, shoot for a low number as they are just right around the corner from the...

“Wish we could've stayed longer!”

Although we live in Lincoln, we'd never even heard of the Magnolia. I just chose it because it was the nearest hotel to the Orpheum Theatre, where we were going to see Blue Man Group. Although the show was great, the hotel was spectacular! My husband and I agree that we have never stayed anywhere cooler. The whole place has a feeling of history, and is so artistically constructed. Our suite was incredible, from the soaring ceilings to the comfortable bed. In the restaurant, we had the best of service, and the BEST reubens you will ever taste.
The suite had a full kitchen, but we weren't there long enough to try it out.

Room Tip: I'd recommend the suites facing into the beautiful courtyard.

“Terrific service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

My wife and I and another couple recently stayed at the Magnolia to attend a show at the Orpheum, This was our second stay in the past year. Everything was excellent! We were allowed an early check (one pm) so we could get ready for the matinee. After the show, we returned for relax time in our room on the fourth floor (bigger rooms). The valet parking was very fast and efficient. the happy hour was relaxing and fun, and we used the shuttle service to go to a restaurant for dinner and again to return to the hotel from another location. Everyone we were in contact with were friendly and efficient. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, Breakfast was diverse and well done and our checkout was fast. We will definitely stay at the Magnolia again. It has become our new favorite place to stay in Omaha.
