I had to travel to Omaha for my best friend's wedding. When I found out I was going solo, I wondered if there was a B&B or historic inn in the area, so I could treat myself. I am so glad I found the Cornerstone! It was a crazy weekend of setting up for a rehearsal dinner, helping the bride get ready and just generally calming her nerves, and I was so glad that I could come "home" to the Cornerstone every night. I stayed in the Garden Room, which is the perfect size for one person - a double bed (an antique sleigh bed), a small desk (but big enough to work comfortably on my laptop), and an attached, private huge bathroom. The price was cheaper than many of the local hotels i looked at, and the inn was so much more inviting. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well every night.
Breakfast during the week was continental, with fresh-baked muffins, coffee, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and bagels. Simple, but plenty. The weekends were fancier, with delicious French toast made from a baguette and garnished with fruit and pecans, and an egg souffle on Sunday.
Julie was a great hostess who made me feel like an old friend by the time I left on Sunday. If I ever make it back to Omaha, I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.
