“More like an nice apartment than a hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2010

I stayed here four nights 11/15-11/18. The room had a full size refrigerator & freezer, microwave, full kitchen with appliances and free high speed internet (not Wi-Fi). The TV had all the stations including a couple of HBO's. Free DVD's are available in the lobby. The front desk staff was very friendly.

It is centrally located near 680 and Dodge, so you can get anywhere in Omaha fairly quickly. Just get off at the "Old Mill" exit and you can find S. 108th and take that about 1/4 mile. A supermarket is on 132nd (Hi-Vee) which is less than a 5 minute drive.

I prepaid and the bill was $65 per night including tax. If you want your own apartment this is the place. If you are looking for Room Service / Spa / etc.go somewhere else.

“If you enjoy a 'non-smoking' room that has apparently been smoked in for about 30 years, this is the place.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

Smoke smell was absolutely stuck in every nook and cranny of my room, thus making the room feel gross and unclean. I left the hotel and stayed elsewhere.

“Like a mini apartment home away from home, and good value.”

This was my second stay at Candlewood Suites in Omaha. We were looking for a clean comfortable hotel with a mini kitchen so we can stay long term to visit relatives and friends in Omaha. This fits the bill. It is quiet and in a safe area. Hard to find at first but once there, it's not a problem. No maid service or complimentary breakfasts. You can bring your own food and snacks. Just a nice basic, clean room, nothing fancy but a decent place to stay and be comfortable. I left a pair of shoes behind on my first trip, and the manager and staff were extremely helpful in finding and keeping them for me.
We are planning to return in the future. A good place for the price.

“OK, but, wouldn't stay again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

The room was clean enough, but after that no much good to say. No room service during a 5 night stay, when I wanted to leave due to horrible bed, they said it was non-refundable, no where did my reservation indicate this. Called the hotel customer service and got the same run around. Very few people at hotel for size, maybe that's why they won't refund, happens too often and the policy is to force customers to stay. Television was 25 in tube type and picture was snowy on many channels.

“Nice Hotel, But Hard to Reach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2010

This is my third Candlewood stay and I would say that this is probably the best out of those as far as the hotel goes. The location though...
A really large achievement in the history of Omaha transportation history was the recent completion of the West Dodge Freeway and the beginning of the issues in getting to this western Omaha office park area. When coming here initially, make sure you get updated directions, because it's not particularly easy or intuitive: there's one way in and one way out. There is nothing to walk to. The closest place to eat is an Italian restaurant attached to another hotel down the road. There's also a Christian bookstore that's kind of close. No supermarkets or real restaurants close by and, because of the strange layout of the new freeway, the mall that's practically caddy-corner to the hotel takes a bit of time to reach. The plus is that the property abuts a creek which sides as a popular walking path. There's also a park and playground next door. The office area and being off a major street also make it very quiet at night.
Once you get past the location issues, it's a nice hotel though. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful, even going so far as to look up my Priority Rewards membership number when I mentioned that I probably had one, but had no idea what it was. The room was great: very clean, all of the kitchen utensils were present, nice bed, nicely laid out, etc. The only strange thing was that the oversized bathroom door would bang against the wall in the bathroom and had actually damaged it as a result.
The internet was wired and, as I was relying on it for work, I appreciated the speed and reliability of it. I didn't use the fitness center or "pantry," but they're nice to have at a hotel.
Otherwise, only positive things to say. I like Candlewoods. They're good value for the money, especially coming from the decidedly lower-end Extended Stay Americas (where I end a lot more often), and are great for week-long stays like mine.
