We were in the neighborhood and were told that this was a good place to stay. And I have to say that for the money, it was just about right. As soon as you walk into the lobby, the smell of smoke smacks you right in the face. We asked specifically for a room in the "tower" part of the hotel with a view. Since it was off season, we got a pretty decent room; however, the wear and tear of the hotel is evident. Also, they have those soap dispensers on the wall in the bathrooms, which I can't stand - it really doesn't make the stay very welcoming - more like a restroom in a visitors center. A good deal is the buffet, which has your standard buffet food, but it's a good price (about $8.99 per person).
One thing I did notice is that they give free rooms to truckers, which is nice for truckers, but there are an overwhelming amount of men in the hotel and quite a huge number of men on business (or so it seemed). Alot of men at the bar in the casino. Just not the type of place for a romantic get away.
