“Pleasantly Surprised!”

We just returned from staying for 3 nights at the Hacienda Hotel and Casino in Boulder City Nevada. We used it for our base while we went fishing out of Willow Beach marina (20 minutes away). I have to say after reading the reviews on this place I wasn't expecting very much. I was very pleasantly surprised. We stayed in what they called a king suite ($60 per night). It was a large room, adaquately decorated and clean. The bathroom was pretty small considering how large the room was. It also had a little coffe maker and a small portable refrigerator which was fine for keeping our sodas and water cold. The bed was comfortable. For the price is was a good room. The casino was large, clean and had plenty of machines and tables for any type of gambler to have a great time. It was comparable to many of the casinos in Las Vegas. All the staff we encountered were very friendly, nice and accommodating. The food was very good. The Steak House was fantastic especially the lobster bisque, it was the best I have ever had. The prices were extremely reasonable for food. The cafe has a prime rib special everyday all day for $8.95. Lots of food on that plate! They had a 2 for 1 buffet for $8.95! That's $4.50 each!!!!!! The food was very good, and I don't usually like bufets. Breakfast was another great deal, bacon with two eggs, toast and hash browns for $2.99. I will definitely return and would recommend it to my friends.

“OK Near Hoover Dam”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Stayed one night after visiting Hoover Dam. Older facility with some wear and tear but clean enough. Moderate price for a moderate room and surprisingly quite even though it is attached to a casino.

“Cheap enough to be worthwhile”

This hotel is good enough for me. I am not particularly picky, so I can overlook the fact that some of the furnishings arae a bit old. They do give good discounts. Food is not that great, but the service is good and the staff is friendly. Overall, it is worth the stay.

“Excellent room for the price -- will stay there again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

I got a very inexpensive room here for 4 nights so had my doubts. I'm glad I choose it! The room and bathroom were large, comfortable and clean. It is an older place so don't expect it to compare with the snazzy places on The Strip. Then again, I paid less for my room than the Strip hotels charge for their resort fee! The room's TV was small but I wasn't there to watch TV. The Hacienda has a very good buffet for the price so I ate there several times. I hear the Hacienda Steakhouse is good but didn't eat there. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. They have a nice outdoor pool and easy parking. The location is several miles east of Boulder City so you have to drive to get anywhere. Some friends recommended the raft trips that you can book at the Hacienda but I didn't have a chance to take one. I will definitely stay at the Hacienda Hotel again. It is the closest place to stay to Boulder Dam and the Arizona border.

“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

The rooms are pretty old, worn and dim, but for the price you pay it is great value for the location, couple of miles from Hoover Dam, views of Lake Mead right from the car park, and right off the freeway, so you can't complain really.
