This motel is very easy to find, and you can park right near your room, a big plus. We thought it was a little pricey, but Boulder City is near the dam. We did get a nice discount being AAA members. There is a gas station nearby and also a good restaurant. Can't remember its name, but it's only a 5 minute walk away and has "Southwestern" in its name--the motel recommended it. ( We were very satisfied with the food and service.) Regarding El Racho, our room was huge. Tons of closet space. Very clean and the beds were comfy. If you can plan to spend some time in Boulder, it looks like a very charming place, where you can walk around. Unlike some other desert towns, I'm guessing it doesn't shut down after 6 pm. I felt very safe. Reminded me of an old fashioned town that's not cluttered with cars everywhere. However, I imagine in the height of the tourist season it can be very busy. Boulder City is also a great location if you need to get back to Vegas quickly. The motel clerk gave us very clear directions, and it took less than an hour for us to return the rental car at the Vegas airport. I would like to explore Boulder City in far more depth, and will definitely consider staying here again. Saw no litter on the streets; everything was very clean.
