“a little pricey, but a good night's sleep”

This motel is very easy to find, and you can park right near your room, a big plus. We thought it was a little pricey, but Boulder City is near the dam. We did get a nice discount being AAA members. There is a gas station nearby and also a good restaurant. Can't remember its name, but it's only a 5 minute walk away and has "Southwestern" in its name--the motel recommended it. ( We were very satisfied with the food and service.) Regarding El Racho, our room was huge. Tons of closet space. Very clean and the beds were comfy. If you can plan to spend some time in Boulder, it looks like a very charming place, where you can walk around. Unlike some other desert towns, I'm guessing it doesn't shut down after 6 pm. I felt very safe. Reminded me of an old fashioned town that's not cluttered with cars everywhere. However, I imagine in the height of the tourist season it can be very busy. Boulder City is also a great location if you need to get back to Vegas quickly. The motel clerk gave us very clear directions, and it took less than an hour for us to return the rental car at the Vegas airport. I would like to explore Boulder City in far more depth, and will definitely consider staying here again. Saw no litter on the streets; everything was very clean.

Room Tip: Call early; this is a good location for the dam.

“Very good value, comfortable and quiet”

Great little place to stay if only for the awesome neon sign. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of large mirrors (!), a little careworn perhaps but perfectly clean. Great location en route to/from Vegas and very close to the Hoover Dam. Free wifi internet a useful bonus. Overall, recommended.

“Quiet comfortable stay, highly recommended”

Wev wanted a one night stay near Vegas / Boulder and this motel had good reviews. The reviews were accurate and the place friendly, with a nice sized very clean comfortable room, including free WiFi. There was a nice looking pool, but felt a bit cool in the middle of March.

The motel recommended Evans resturant, 10 minutes walk up the road which was first class, as a reasonable price. Breakfast, at another location, also recommended was equally good.

Overall, a highly recommended place for a one night stay (or longer). Boulder City was a very pleasant surprise, with a row of modern shops in the centre. ie a down town that was far from dead.

“Wonderful, clean, interesting funky hotel Great Value”

We stayed here for two nights with dogs. Great location, we could walk to downtown for dinner. The staff was wonderful, had great dinner recommendations and were genuinely interested in helping us enjoy our stay. Room was clean & serviceable more than adequate as a base of operations. Had a refrig & microwave... Grounds immaculate. Convenient to good day hikes, great little town. We are going back in February!

“Great no-frills, inexpensive, clean, safe place to stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

I booked one night at El Rancho Boulder based on the reviews here in TA, but especially based on the price ($70 for a king). This was the first night of a seven-day swing through NV, CA, and AZ, so my husband and I were looking for a nice, clean, safe, inexpensive place to sleep for the night. We didn't need frills; simplicity was the name of the game. And it's what we got at El Rancho Boulder. The room was very clean, the staff was very friendly, and the motel was easy to find. The motel and the bed linens (namely the quilt) were a little dated (but still very clean). That is my only "complaint." We walked up to the Brewing Company for dinner Saturday night and down to the Southwest Cafe for breakfast the next morning. If you just need a place to lay your head for the night that is nice, clean, safe, and basic, definitely stay at El Rancho Boulder Motel.
