This was a month of living in HELL! Had I known How Filthy and nasty the room were, and that this place is ridden with Prostitutes, Drug Dealers and Drunks, I would have never Stayed, I paid for the month and they would not refund my money. The Owner is Crooked the whole Staff is Crooked. They thought my room was empty cause I went to work, my son was there, and a member of the staff tried to get in my room, Thank God it was bolt locked, called the cops, so they could check on my son, the cops told my son that the owners of the TRAVEL INN ON GAMBELL are shady and that they have stolen from the guest that have stayed there. My friend was staying there and had the Rack stolen from the back of his truck, Owner says talk to the manager, Absolutely takes no responsibility for the things that go on in that hell hole, they allow THE ROSE ROOM is what it says, this room has people in and out all hours day and night Hmmm wonder whats up with that???? Fights, people getting beat up the room next to me the man was doing god knows what to the kid I told the owner , he said that the guy was a nice guy, I said tell the baby he is beating he is a nice guy, so I called the cops for a welfare check on the child. NEVER< NEVER< NEVER Stay at that place, FILTHY< NASTY< AND THE OWNERS ARE CROOKS!

Room Tip: Stay away from The Travel Inn on Gambell street ie

“Not a good place to stay. Will not recommend to anyone.”

First of all they advertise one thing and it ends up will a lot of other fees such as key deposit fee and cleaning fee. The place was very dirty from start, the mirror was broken, and the floor was nasty. Several times I had people knocking at my door screaming, and I could heard the voices of people next door all night,, a strong smell of chemicals were coming out of that room. The management people of that place are not honest at all. They are shady. I can not recommend this place not even to my worse enemy. The Travel Inn is disgusting.

“Legendarily Horrible--This is the kind of place you laugh about later with your friends and family.”

I work in a hotel (one of which is not that great), but even the worst rooms are better than the best of these.
Customer service: We asked the desk clerk (who was probably the owner) to look at a room before we decided to stay there, asking for a room with a queen size bed and air conditioning. He first showed us a room that had two twin beds and no a/c. It wasn't until we said we weren't going to stay that he showed us a room with what we requested.
Price: The room ran us at $99 with taxes--a decent price during the summer.
Room: When we finally got in the room, we slowly discovered the various problems. For one, although we had a queen size bed, underneath the bedspread was a twin size blanket with HELLO KITTY all over it. The pillows were super thin and felt more like styrofoam blocks than actual pillows. The room had a good-sized TV with cable, but all of the channels you'd expect to have (i.e. ESPN, TLC, Discovery, and maybe even USA, Disney, and Cartoon Network) were blocked, while the channels that actually were available were basically porn channels. Oh, and the air conditioning didn't really work.
The next morning, I found out that the bathroom was incredibly filthy. It looked like it had not been cleaned in months (maybe even longer) as there was a thick layer of dust all over the bathroom. There was maybe a third of a toilet paper roll (with no spare roll) and it was sitting haphazardly on the back of the toilet. The towel rack was broken and the towels looked pretty old. The shower curtain was a tangled mess (I have no idea how it could have gotten that way and there didn't seem to be a way to fix it) and there was no soap or shampoo.
Other: Though the room had an ice bucket, there was no ice machine at all. I asked the desk clerk about it, and he told me that I would have to go to the Chevron (which was a mile away) if I wanted ice. There was also no snack or soda machine.

Needless to say, this place was legendarily horrible--it's the kind of place you laugh about later with your friends and family. Don't ever stay here.

“Nasty”

Lobby smelt like mildew.. I dont think the room we stayed in had been vacuumed in a very long time.. The bathtub had brown rings in it and bathroom floor had clumps of dirt on it.. I slept on top of the blankets because I had already felt dirty and didnt want to find anything else.. I would of left if there had been any other hotels with vacancy..

“Flop House”

Arrived 10 P.M. had a reservation for 3 nights & arrived 10 P.M tired & did not look at room before booking. Got to room, no coffee for coffee maker, not a glass or drinking cup in room. Called office & they brought up one styrofom cup & coffee. Only one small towel, When I called for a washrag I was informed no washrag. Would have checked out immediately but not familiar with area or where to go to get another hotel. Checked out next morning & manager threatened me that he was going to charge me for all 3 nights of reservation. Only way I got the other 2 nights taken off the charge was to inform him I would cancel the credit card charges. Would not reccommend this motel to worst enemy/
