Stay away from this hotel. It was very dirty and offered little comfort. The carpet was so soiled that no one in our group wanted to take off their shoes. There was no blackout shades in either of the bedrooms. There was no AC and the window screens had holes in them. We stuffed paper in the holes in order to let the air in and keep the bugs out. One fan was provided, but we were not given use of another for the other bedroom. The dishes in the kitchenett were grimey. The price was way out of line for the room we were given.

I was here on business but arrived early so I chose the Sourdough for the first 5 nights because I did not not want to pay the rate on the other hotel my company booked for me. This was August 2004 and the Sourdough's rates were very reasonable. I was skeptical due to the past reviews but I reserved anyway. Upon my arrival, the employees were very friendly and my check in did not take long. The employee did ask me if I wanted dishes placed in my room since I was staying for an extended period. She explained to me that dishes were reserved for extended stay guests like me. I thought that was understandable. When I entered my room I was very surprise on how nice and large it was. It was like an apartment. I had a living room, kitchen and separate bedroom. The kitchen had full-size appliances with a microwave, stove & oven, frig. & coffee maker. Most other hotels I have stayed at only had a partial kitchen. My dishes were dropped off to my room within 5 minutes. I did ask if they had a toaster and they brought it to meet right away. The room was very clean. A real plus is that they offered a cable modem as high-speed internet, which was fantastic. I was very happy with my room and I did not find any problems like the past reviewers described. I asked to see a different room and told them I had a collegue that needs a room. The room I looked at was nice also. The front desk attendants were very nice and helpful as well. The other guests I observed in the lobby seemed happy with their stay also. I cancelled my reservation with the other hotel and ended up staying at the Sourdough for almost a month. I did break a drinking glass, but they did not charge me for it. Like I said, the staff was very hospitable and friendly. I am planning on staying there again when I come back.

119.00 a night with kitchen, not even a spoon to stir your coffee. Son accidentally wet the mattress, I called to tell them he did and they made us buy them a brand new mattress although the one he soiled was used. Check your bed for stains because if there is one and they didn't catch who did it they will make you buy them a brand new one if your the unlucky one that is there when they do check. We paid them the 120.00 for a brand new mattress and was well on our way to a 100 % better place that was only 30.00 more and they treat you like a star. The Ramada Inn downtown. The Ramada Inn downtown will even provide you with a refrigerator as well as a microwave. Excellent hospitality at the Ramada!

"Suite" Hospitality; they mean all the sweets still stuck on the bed sheets from the last guest mid-night snack. Checked out asap and never looked back.
