I spent 3 nights at this hotel and hated every night. Anchorage was booked up because of a marathon--there was no place else in town. The rate of $119 a night was overpriced by about $119.
This place sucks because it is 1) dirty, 2) has been abused & even recent updates are falling apart, 3) has rude front desk staff who are very mean for no reason, 4) charges you in full for your entire stay on the day that you check in--claim there is no refund for early check out, 4) does not include any dishes in the kitchen and staff would not provide them unless we were staying for 5 or more days, and 5) requires that you sign an agreement listing outrageous fees for leaving too much trash in the trash cans, etc.
I was there on government business with 3 other coworkers--it nearly took a call to the Governor of Alaska to get our pre-payment money back when we had to check out 2 days early because of sudden work reassignment.
I have stayed at the Residence Inn, Dimond Center Hotel, and the Courtyard by the Airport while in Anchorage on business. I rate them in that order for comfort, long term stays, and value.
THIS HOTEL IS HORRIBLE--STAY AWAY IF YOU DISLIKE PESTS (LIKE BED BUGS) AND VALUE YOUR MONEY.
