It was August 2007. I wanted to extend my visit in Alaska for another week after taking my friend to the airport in the evening. It was getting dark. I was debating whether to push for Wasilla or stay in Alaska that night. I was tired, then saw the sign Mush Inn. I booked a room for one night without checking. I just made the biggest mistake in my life. The smell, mildew, holes in the ceiling, curtains do not close, stains everywhere on the carpet, broken window. It was late and I am not familiar with the city. I should have left! How could such a place exist in beautiful Alaska? I hope the Mayor of Anchorage or Govenor Sarah Palin read all the reviews of Mush Inn. It was a nightmare. Please, consider all the reviews about this motel and stay away! Usually, I am not hard to please, but this one is beyond my imagination. Mush Inn does not even deserve one star! Too bad I did not take any picture of the place.

To whom it may concern.
My wife and I had a life long family dawg,and this was the was the fastest place that had an opening(No Joke)that would take pets.
We HAD to stay there because we ran out of money for a "Nice" Motel.
Ohh,and as far as the Room Servive goes??.....save the APD(Anchorage Police Department)a lot of time and paperwork and do it yourself.
The local restaurant across the parking lot (Peggy's)was the only bright spot to our day.
We still go back there even after all these years.
IF you must stay there....bring LOTS of Lysol,Clorex,and other disinfectants.
Ohh,and ladies?? Make sure you have a lot of toliet seat covers.
Would I/we recommend this "lovely" establishment to ANYONE???

looking for a hotel in Anchorage near the airport since we were leaving the next day...checked into a somewhat questionable lobby and found our way to our room...when entering, it was something out of a horror movie...floors were filthy, bedding did not look like it had been washed in years...window fixed open with no screens (anyone could 'mush-in'), room smelled and when trying to turn on the fan/thermostat - the cover plate was gone with exposed wiring...bathroom was another disaster where you would be dirtier trying to use it...went to the store to buy air freshner but it didn't help...went back to the lobby to say the room was not acceptable and they would not refund our money...needless to say, we went elsewhere to spend the night....

We picked up a brochure at the airport Kiosk regarding this motel after we got bumped off a flight at 2am. We just wanted a cheap place to stay for a few hours before we went back to the airport. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. However she had to sit behind her bullet proof glass. There was a sign on the wall that read something like: "after the police are called for the eighth time", the strip clubs are right around the corner. This is the most seedy part of town. This place is not safe do not stay here under any circumstances. We had the taxi driver take us back to the airport, we did not get any sleep but we are still alive.
