“Don't ever stay here. really”

This has got to be the worst place I have ever had to stay. We walked into our room (#210) to find out that the lights between the beds are almost broken off of the wall, there is a missing bulb in the bathroom fixture, and the bathroom door does not close. There was also a wonderful present. A big stain under the desk, that looked like someone was playing basketball with a piece of poop. I would never make my worst enemy stay here! It is BAD!!

“Prefer the Bates Hotel”

Hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was so cramped I kept hitting my head on the TV. The carpeting was dripping wet for some unknown reason, so I slogged about in my flip-flops to stay dry. The front desk did not have a fan or offer another room. Please don't bringing kids here. There were people carrying on outside my window in the parking lot below. Someone was pounding on my door and yelling at 2 AM. I called the front desk and informed them I was checking out. I waited for the door pounder to leave, and quitely made my way to a cab and a nice hotel by the airport. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't try to save a little money by staying here.

“Truly horrible - don't stay here.”

As a former resident of Anchorage, I should have known better. Planning a weekend trip to Anchorage for my high school reunion, I was sold on the affordable room rate and convenient location offered at the Inlet Inn Motel. I would have been almost as comfortable (and $91 richer) if I had slept on a bench in the bus depot across the street. The check-in process was a hassle, the room reeked of cigarette smoke, the bathroom towels were threadbare, the blankets had cigarette burns.... I could go on and on. Horrible all around. This place is a mess. Inlet Inn Motel is a neglected, ratty pit, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out if they charged by the hour. I would have been mortified if I were traveling with my family and I was faced with staying here. Good thing I was traveling alone this time and I could put up with it for one night. (The room was already paid for and I couldn't cancel.) Do yourself a favor -- spend a little more on your hotel in Anchorage instead of staying here and feeling ripped off like I did.

“Awful unsafe stink-hole.”

This was the worst hotel I have ever seen. The door to my room had been kicked in, and was glued back together. The room was filthy, the website photos were obviously from another hotel. the walls hadn't seen paint in years, the carpet was filthy, the bed linens stained and worn, the bathroom small and moldy. Please do not stay here.
Also, this was clearly a "residence" inn for several of the local homeless. They must get a low monthly rate. Avoid this death-trap at all costs.

“Well Below Standard”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2004

Below standard for anyone! Upon checking in at 02:30 am, the attendant informed us that our confirmed room was not available. We were told that we requested and were booked into a room with twin beds. Realizing that our kids did not have sufficient space for us to bunk with them, we decided to remain at the hotel, even though it was evident that it was not the Hilton! I insisted that we get the room that was confirmed for us at the rate of $71.00 a night. The attendant told us that we had an option of a room in the basement, which were rented to individuals on a weekly basis and had one window. What! We were eventually given a room on the first floor, next to the rear door, stairs and the laundry room. The laundry room was used right up to 4:30am. Image that. Needless to say, we did not have an enjoyable or relaxing stay. The 1st night, there were individuals that were obviously drunk and fighting on the 2nd floor, right above our room! Reporting this to the front desk, did no good. The 2nd night was a repeat of the insanity. I went to get a drink from the vending machine, and found a drunk man standing outside of my door and then wandering the hallway. The bathroom ceiling was caving in, the furniture was severly scored with burns from cigarettes, in addition to the carpet being dirty, sticky and downright filthy. I again informed the front desk and was told that they would "look into it". We immediately began seeking lodging at other locations, but prices were in excess of what we could afford. We came to Alaska to see our 3 grandchildren, 2 of which we have not seen since their births. This was to be an exciting trip for us.
3rd night, more arguing, cussing, drunkards and a visit to the front desk. I asked to speak with the owner and was told that she did not speak much English but did have a general Manager who was not available. This was at 06:00am. We were told to look for Mrs. Lee at 09:30. She was unavailable all day long. Finally, I STOOD and STOOD at the front desk until the general Manager, Mark appeared. I took him to the room, showed him everything and told him of the unpleasant events that we encountered, only to be told that we were given an upscaled room of $79.00 and they would not accomodate me with any discounts or refunds.

Is this tolerable by the BBB of the great state of Alaska? I sincerely hope not. I do not recommend this facility as a place to stay.
