My experience wasn't as bad as some of the reviewer's experiences - the room is certainly old and dated, and had the smell of old pet smells as soon as you walked in. But I checked the fridge, stove, bathtub, etc due to some of the other reviewer's issues, and they were in fact clean (I don't know if the stove/microwave worked, as I didn't have the opportunity to try them). There was a working remote to the TV. As far as security goes, there was a single chain across the rear door, and it looked as if anyone would be able to push their way in. There was also a party outside and the walls are paper thin, so bring a pair of earplugs. The desk chair was so old there was a permanent dent where countless people had sat, and I had to think hard about sitting in it. All in all, it was ok for the budget minded, but certainly not my first preference.
