“Old and dated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

My experience wasn't as bad as some of the reviewer's experiences - the room is certainly old and dated, and had the smell of old pet smells as soon as you walked in. But I checked the fridge, stove, bathtub, etc due to some of the other reviewer's issues, and they were in fact clean (I don't know if the stove/microwave worked, as I didn't have the opportunity to try them). There was a working remote to the TV. As far as security goes, there was a single chain across the rear door, and it looked as if anyone would be able to push their way in. There was also a party outside and the walls are paper thin, so bring a pair of earplugs. The desk chair was so old there was a permanent dent where countless people had sat, and I had to think hard about sitting in it. All in all, it was ok for the budget minded, but certainly not my first preference.

Room Tip: Not sure if there are better or worse rooms

Thank you for your candid comments. We have begun using a stronger concentration of the product we use to lift odors, and believe it is making a big difference. e do occasionally have guests making morenoise than is appropriate. If you notify the front desk, it will be taken care of. I'm sorry we're bnot your first preference. We'd like to be.

“Disgusting”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

I went there with my dog and as soon as we walked into the room he whimpered at the smell of the musty room. The bed had dead bugs all over (10 different types!) I lifted up the matress and found weed and condoms ( no housekeeping or never heard of trash?!) The shower had semen and pubic hair in it ( this took the cake) I checked under the sofa cushions and to my suprise found 2 dead rats. All towels had more pubic hair and even more semen on the bedsheet, and on the sink. Me and my dog left and went to another hotel.

Room Tip: dont stay here! AT ALL!

You may be certain that if any of this had been brought to our attention at the time, it would immediately have been acted upon. We aren't perfect, and occasionally we miss something, though we have never found a dead rat under a sofa cushion. We did, however, have to catch a squirrel last fall, when he made his way through a stove's vent hood into the kitchen. The pursuit lasted less than an hour. I'm sorry we didn't live up to your expectations. We strive each day to improve. I hope you'll come back and see the improvements.

“One of the Worst!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

They advertised a King Suite, one would think it has a king size bed, it doesn't, I was told after I checked into my room that none of their rooms has a king bed, queens only. The room was musty, the bed was awful, probably left over from the 60s, had to ask for towels, and the light fixture was missing a bulb, and the oven, OMG! I can't say enough how bad this place was, check out the pictures!

I'm sorry you weren't able to get the room type you requested. We do have 10 King Suites, but during the time you were here a number of them were occupied by long-term guests. August is a busy time, so occasionally someone who wanted a king suite got a suite with two queens instead. That was what happened in your case. I do hope you'll come back and let us make it up to you.

“This place is a DIVE!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2011

When you first get to the room you will notice the room smells musty, the toilet needed to be flushed at least three times in order to drain. Steady leak in the shower. No remote for the TV went to the lobby and was given a remote that was taped together but you still had to hold the batteries to get it to work. The bed was awful! probably been there since the 60's. The dishes were put back dirty and the room was not clean. they change the key code daily but dont tell you they do that. so plan on stopping to get your key fixed daily. there were kids running up and down the halls till all hours of the night, When checking out i was told they dont give receipts. This will be my last stay!

I'm sorry your experience wasn't what it should have been. We have gotten all new mattresses, which I believe you'll find are a big improvement. The key code doesn't change, but the machine which programs the keys automatically programs them for one night only, unless the guest service associate changes the number of days. Also, we of course, do give receipts. We could not do so in your case, because you had booked through an online booking engine, whose rates we are not allowed to disclose. You should have received a receipt from the booking engine. I do hope you'll give us another shot, as we are working very hard to upgrade our hotel.

We were looking for something Alaskan which we found at the Parkwood Inn. We felt at home having a full kitchen in the room. When we needed additional things in our room the staff was very accomadiating. Plenty of space for repacking gifts and we would recomend this hotel to our friends.
