“Peak Season or Off Season, your experience will differ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Peak Season is well staffed but hectic and that slower pace personal touch might be lacking a little. Off Season the personal touch is great, friendly, attentive to all needs.... except the in-room meal service are C+ cooking students. Always clean, always safe...centrally located to all down town attractions. Overnight parking IS NOT free and very expensive if you have a rental car.

Room Tip: There are three possible towers where your room is located. The view you want will depend on which...

“Christmas Alaskan style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I am a grandmother with custody of my 4 and 5 year old grandchildren, my son got a job in Anchorage and this was going to be his first time awaynfrom family at Christmas so I decided to take my 4 & 5 year old to see him at Christmas. I booked the hotel in November for a week and also a room for my daughter a few days after the kids and I went. The staff at the hotel went above and beyond what they needed to do. They had a Christmas tree in our room for us, they delivered presents to put under the tree and on Christmas morning Santa had left stockings for the kids. I loved Omar at the front desk, all the girls in the women's spa, the massage therapists, the concierge who gave great directions and advice, room service, everyone there. I am looking at a Tauck tour for the summer and their hotel for Anchorage is
Captain Cook's Hotel. It doesn't get any better than that.

Room Tip: Call them directly and they will provide you with what you want. Cost was what a "cheap hotel...

“The nicest place hotel in Anchorage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

The Captain Cook is probably I think the nicest hotel in Anchorage. The rooms are nice, and the location is great. The mall and Starbucks are within close walking distance. Anchorage is such a beautiful place, and there is a lot to do there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the sound.

“Pleasantly Surprised”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

After getting of the train on the Princess Tour/Cruise, we were taken to the
Captain Cook Hotel. This hotel is a gem in a beautiful city. The room, although small, was furnished like a quaint B&B. We enjoyed our short stay right in the downtown area of Anchorage. The hotel had a pretty bar and restaurant. I would gladly return should I be in this city again.

“Worn but comfortable with a Great Athletic Club.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Great location, but a bit worn. Probably wouldn't pass muster in a larger town. Restaurants were fair as well. However he athletic club was GREAT! Separate men's and women's facilities. Full range of machines, a spinning room, both a sauna and stream room, clean showers, and workout clothes are even provided. One minus, the shared pool alway seemd full of children.
