My wife and I,along with another couple, went to Alaska in July 2011 to go fishing at Anvik river lodge and as a result needed to stay in anchorage for 3 nights before and 1 night after our trip.I was looking for an alternative to the same ole' hotel experience and prices and "voila" Raspberry Meadows" came up on my computer. The four of us could rent the executive suite and split the cost saving us approximately $700 for two separate rooms in a hotel . The owner,Marty Margeson and her daughters,Annie and Beth were away when we arrived as we had been told previously. A key was left for us and explicit directions to our suite and we were impressed by the trust shown by our hosts. As soon as they returned that evening they came right down to our suite and welcomed us,showing us where the various appliances and goodies were located. The suite was immaculate, with two ample bedrooms and fantastically comfortable mattresses on the beds(which is not the case in many places we have stayed). The muffin tin was refilled every day,as we devoured our share of those awesome morsels!!The cozy living room allowed us to enjoy our friends in a "homey" atmosphere during our down time, as Marty had great suggestions for places to see in Anchorage. We went to Alaska for the spectacular fishing and scenery and came away awestruck but more than that we felt like part of our hosts family for four days.Marty is a knowledgable and gracious host and Annie and Beth were wonderfully entertaining spending hours talking with us.If you want the "same ole, same ole" stay in a hotel. If you want a great place to stay with family hospitality and charm, look no further. We will be going back!!!!
