We stayed at South Bluffs on two separate weekends, with a trip to the Kenai peninsula in between. Anchorage was our entrance point to Alaska, and South Bluffs didn't disappoint! We stayed in both rooms, and WOW they were huge! Soaking tub in both rooms were great for our little one, and also very tempting after our Half Marathon. Karin gave us plenty of good advice about travel in Alaska, specifically also about where to find groceries and good restaurants. She also offered to us to take their pack n' play on our trip to the Kenai, and let us use their washer and dryer so that we didn't have to take our smelly clothes to Denali.
The room was ready for us when we rolled in around 10:30 PM local time, after a 19 hour Odyssey getting to Alaska. Of course we came the weekend before the Midnight Sun, so it was still daylight! When we arrived the pack n' play was already set up, and Nick gave us a warm welcome. After a sound sleep in the huge King size bed, we greeted the morning with divine scones and fruit from Karin; which we requested in bulk on our second weekend. Loved the picturesque view of the mountains from their property, and our little one really enjoyed the playground. Great home base for any trip to Alaska. Wonderful neighborhood, easy to get in and out of town, and excellent hosts.
Oh, the fresh flowers were exquisite! Best place we stayed at in Alaska.
