If you love watching float planes come and go, this is an amazing place to stay. You can also see jets landing at ANC. This B&B was thoughtfully designed - there are 4 rooms, but none share a wall with another, so you rarely hear the other guests. Bill, the owner lives downstairs and has his float plane parked in front. Everything is decorated with an airplane theme. Two rooms have a balcony overlooking the lake, but the other two rooms share a sitting area with a balcony in between the other two, so really, everyone can enjoy the views. There's a full kitchen that the guests can use all day, and breakfast is help yourself. There's lots of food and choice. There's a coin operated washer and dryer $1 a load. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The planes do make a lot of noise, especially the jets, even in the middle of the night. Light sleepers may want to wear earplugs. The windows do not open for fresh air - I expect it would be too noisy anyway. The Bravo room has a corner window with the best views.
