This B& B is on an east-west walking/bike path that connects to the water walk along the seashore. Easy bus access to downtown. Spacious and clean quarters. Pleasant back yard. A really comfortable home.

The proprietor is a most helpful and down-to-earth hostess who went out of her way to find one of the neighbourhood moose for her visitors to see. A true Alaskan with an interesting background, she is flexible and accommodating to the comings and goings of her guests.

The owner was gone, but Denise was great! Very friendly and worked with us on our travel plans. We had the pick of the house for our room and were quite satisfied. She worked with us on the price, as well, since it was the end of the season. Anchorage is pretty pricey, but this little place was really close to the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail AND downtown. I highly recommend this B&B!

For airport transportation, the owner picked us up in her own car, but there was so much junk in the floorboard that we had to sit with our knees up to our chest in the seat.

We arrived at a small house with a blue tarp on the side of it covering a large amount of junk in the yard.

The sign for the property… a green poster board with marker on the front saying the name of the B&B.

The bedroom smelled of cat urine… yuck

The closet was half-full of the owner’s clothes, which she pushed to one side and left a few wire hangers for us to use.

The bathroom had a basket of soap and towels… the soaps were samples from other hotels (most of which the wrappers were re-used).

The owner asked if we wanted any breakfast as we were getting ready to leave. I told the woman no, I just wanted to get to the airport. She replied ‘good, I don’t have to cook then’.

The owner then asked if we wanted any fruit or bottled water. I thought that bottled water would be safe, so I asked for that…. She came back with a PEPSI bottle (wrapper still on it) full of water, and told us that she didn’t see any point in buying bottled water when you can rinse and reuse soda bottles.

DO NOT STAY HERE…. I say this for your own protection.
