I spent two random nights at Oscar Gill B&B and found it to be delightful: quiet (I arrived from CST and had not adjusted to Alaska time so crashed early), impeccably clean, super quiet and comfortable, with interesting appointments and artifacts throughout the house. Susan is one of the most intelligent, convivial and amusing people I have ever been privileged to meet and infuses her B&B with her energy. Breakfasts were varied and sumptuous even to my inordinate appetite. When they discovered I had a late afternoon departure they asked if I wanted to leave my gear there till it was take-off time, even though this was some hours later than checkout. Sue lent me a copy of the Milepost which I found invaluable while driving around the vastness of Alaska. The Lutzes go above and beyond in their hospitality and one cannot imagine any guest being disappointed, as a quick perusal of the guestbook will indicate. There is not a single aspect in the catalogue of hotel-keeping that has not been addressed successfully by Sue and Mark Lutz, the owners. Their pride in this establishment is evident and the fact that I am plotting and scheming a return at the soonest opportunity is the strongest endorsement.
