My daughter and I tried to stay here. AC in room broken, guy at desk just shrugged and recommended we open windows. Windows open to alley - not a nice one. Dingy and dirty. HORRIBLE and I am not picky! We called and found another hotel and moved - worth losing our money - we'd have been more comfortable sitting up at the airport!

Called to get money back - manager was nice but owner wouldn't budge. We didn't stay there and their AC was broken (temp in room close to 90 degrees by the thermostat). They are in business because people like me think they might get a cute, quaint hotel at a good price - they succor you in and then won't reimburse anything!

STAY AWAY!

It's smelly, dirty (they don't vaccum the room); they say it's a non-smoking environment, but it's false. I had a strong reaction because of all the cigarette smell. There'a a train track right behind the hotel, so, if you don't have earplugs, well, you don't sleep! It's not located in a good place of the city; the place looks like junk! DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! Pay the 50$ more, and go to a best western, it will be much better!!!

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, we still hoped that this hotel was not going to be that bad. We're a family used to Motel 6's and Super 8's, so we were sure we couldn't be frightened by any hotel. We were WRONG. Don't stay here, the other reviewers are completely accurate! It's a shady feeling neighborhood, and with two teens training for cross country season, they were not pleased that the neighborhood was this unsafe to run in. Sure, the people working at the hotel were nice, considering the state of this hotel. The shuttle service worked out fine, the people at the front desk gave good suggestions on places to eat. The bathroom in our room was not very nice - the only hotel bathroom worse than this I have ever seen was reminiscent of the bathroom from the movie Saw (although missing the body). Our room was also next to the dumpsters, so we were woken up early by the trash being taken away.

We thought that we'd save a few bucks and stay at the Chelsea Inn. HUGE mistake!! AWFUL! These other bad reviews are not strongly enough worded and do not trust anyone who doesn't give this hotel an awful rating. It deserves a negative rating.

Our flight arrived @ 2 AM and when we arrived at the hotel there were sketchy looking people hanging out outside the hotel. My first reaction was to just turn around and pay the extra $$ at a name brand hotel. (I regret not doing that.)

The hotel is smelly, outdated, tired and worn out. We booked through Orbitz, which was terrible because we paid $100 instead of the $69 on the sign outside. There was a sign on the front desk that advised no prostitution or drug dealing or you would be evicted. (That's "classy".) And, make no mistake, this is a hotel where seedy people live!

The lock on the door didn't work, there were 3 large windows - one of those didn't lock. The towels were threadbare and a dingy grey color. There were loud people in the lobby all night long. There were cigarette burns on my 2 year old son's sheets. And, again, the odor. Ugh.

If you stay here, you will regret it and have an incredibly bad night's rest.

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. If you've already paid for the room, I would advise you to just lose that money and stay somewhere... anywhere else!!
