We were given a filthy room with oil on floor, dirty bedspread, etc. We asked to be changed and quickly had to leave our baggage to meet client. When coming back, we again found a dirty room, and filthy bedspread. You go out the back door to parking and the handrails are all rusty and dirty. Bad place. We wrote them several times, and they do not feel they have to answer or refund money-which they should do. AAA had booked the hotel for us.
DO NOT STAY HERE...They do not care about customer relations.

The good part is the front desk staff is very friendly and the hotel has complimentary airport shuttle round the clock. The hotel is pretty old and needs a uplift. The float planes next to the hotel significantly add to the noise level and impacts sleep. The house keeping staff need to be service focussed. I would recommend this hotel only as a last option until it gets a uplift.

We were scheduled for one night at this hotel enroute driving from Fairbanks to Seward. We found the room to be dingy and dirty - cigarette burns in the carpet (in a non-smoking room), a musty odor, etc. Hotel management showed us a different room, but it had the same problems. We decided not to stay and received a refund from Expedia for the room. Do not even consider this hotel - there are many better ones at the same price in the immediate area.

The Coast International is a good middle-of-the-road hotel. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the transportation from/to the airport much appreciated, as were the internet access and the laundry facility. As others have said, the hotel is a bit dated, but the rooms are comfortable and a good size. The restaurant is adequate, but could certainly stand with an upgrade in its offerings. The float planes taking off on Lake Hood could be a problem if you are trying to sleep late.
