This place is a very basic older motel, but it is a fine place to crash for a night - especially if you are flying in/out of Merrill Field. Our room was clean, and the free shuttle from the main airport (Ted Stevens) was a huge plus. The hotel has apparently been renovated since most of the negative reviews on here were written. I think the management has also changed, according to someone I called at the chamber of commerce. Considering that the Hampton Inn wanted $250 for the same night, this place was a good value at about $120. It's true that there is an adult entertainment bar across the street, but I did not hear or see any of its patrons so it really didn't bother me.

VERY bare bones. Few amenities. Soled bedspreads, pillows with an inidentifiable smell, linen with holes and stains. Towels frayed and well used. Doors not completely sealed. General sense of insecurity as the door opens directly to the parking lot. Nice Chinese restaurant next door. Travelled with my wife and mom--as we were going to be exploring the Park and doing sight seeing thought saving a few dollars on the motel would be a good idea...not. Almost ruined the trip for mom. If you are in college and simply want a bed to flop on, this might do. For adults with an income, go down the street to a branded hotel with better amenities, security, and cleanliness. At the time the motel had a "AAA" approved sign...I can't see how they rated it.

We stayed 4 nights. Good location. Very helpful owners and staff. Kept our fish frozen even when we weren't there. Good breakfast most mornings. Although everything was not perfect, they were quick to respond to problems. The remodeled rooms are quite nice.

Stayed there two different nights during a two-week period and both nights were miserable. Other guests at the Inn were loud and boisterous to the point that it was impossible to sleep. We were scheduled to stay a third night but the morning we checked out, we cancelled the reservation for three nights later which was at least 48 hours before the date reserved. Despite the desk clerk confirming that there would be no penalty for cancelling the reservation, my credit card was charged. The Inn refused to refund the money. The Inn claimed that since the reservation was made via the internet, the cancellation must also be made via the internet. What a ridiculous excuse! No other reputable hotel/motel would expect a traveler to make cancellations via the internet....telephone calls and/or personal face-to-face communication is all that is required.
