We stayed here two nights following a cruise. We chose the hotel based on location and it was a resonable price. We also liked the idea that is was older and a part of Anchorage History. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable of the area and local things to do. The rooms were dated but clean and the beds were comfortable. The one downside to this hotel was the LOUD nightlife that surrounded it. We had a room on the second floor facing the front street and both nights it was very loud. The noise continued well after 3am and on more than one occasion did the police show up to deal with individuals staggering down the streets. I would still recommend this place based on location and price but word of advice... pack earplugs.

We spent 3 nights at the Historic Anchorage Hotel. We had a mini-suite and enjoyed the restoration of the hotel. The bathroom was small, but everything was immaculate. The front desk people provided maps, restaurant recommendations, directions, and answered all questions. Parking is available at a city lot for $10 for 24 hours....very reasonable and a very short walk away. A continental breakfast came with the room and was very nice.

This hotel is very old and dingy and I thought the bathroom was gross. The only thing good about this hotel was the location...we could walk to the nearby restaurants and shops. I would definitely not stay here again. We stayed here on our 1st night during our AK trip...this did not leave a good impression of Anchorage, thankfully it got a lot better once we reached Denali.

It was a very nice room & good service. A small room refrig. would have been nice for the massive restaurant leftovers:) Nice to have real cups & glasses in room. Walking distance to downtown attractions a plus.
