This hotel was very updated and the rooms were spacious. The rates were on par with other properties for this time of year- which are high. It was only a short drive into the downtown area of Anchorage and to the train depot. If you want to be able to walk right out your door and into the touristy parts of the city try the Hilton- even though it is not nearly as nice inside.

This Embassy Suites is set up like a traditional hotel rather than the normal Embassey style- tall with the big atrium in the middle. Breakfast was great and happy hour was even better- especially thinking about the money we saved on food. Also, having the kitchen area in the room makes it much easier to grocery shop and then eat in.

Service was terrific, parking was great, and this was an overall lovely experience.

Rooms are excellent for family as they have a separate bedroom that allowed parents to have a separate sleep schedule from kids if needed. Room and hotel was very clean. Staff was very professional and friendly. Excellent breakfast. Kids loved indoor pool. Very good location. Will definitely plan on staying there again on our next trip to Anchorage.

Only minor complaint was that room service leftovers were not picked up from hallway in a very timely fashion. Would have also been nice to have vehicle plug-ins to ease the cold weather starting.

Bottom line: Great place at a fair price and you'd have a hard time beating it elsewhere.

The hotel provided a quient comfortable room that was spotless for my short stay over Christmas. While I like independent hotels this chain seems to be a cut above most.

Love the property and the breakfast and managers reception is fantastic
