“Wonderful Bed and Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

THANK YOU Judy for opening your home to Veterans. From the first contact on the phone until our departure, we couldn't be happier. Villa Heidelberg offers all the comforts and atmosphere one would expect in a Bed and Breakfast, from the unique flavor of each room (some with real fireplaces stock with wood to use) to the ability to go into the kitchen for a cup of coffee anytime you wish. Plenty of reading activity and games for the children, great location to walk to dinner, and great views of the Sound. Breakfast was not only healthy in nutrition, but in spirit as well. What a pleasure to enjoy more than just a meal, but conversation too!

Room Tip: There are only two rooms with their own bathroom, the one on the third floor offers the most privacy...

“Wonderful visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

We just stayed a week at the Villa Heidelberg and greatly enjoyed it. The only thing better than the fun conversations we had with various guests at breakfast was the wonderful food cooked by Eric. My husband has dietary allergies and Eric was very careful and creative in providing him with delicious breakfasts all week. Judy, the Innkeeper, was out of commission with a broken leg while we were there and Eric was wonderfully filling in for her.

We stayed in the big room on the 3rd floor and were very comfortable. It is spacious and has a beautiful view. There is a private bathroom with a big tub, we learned to be creative in washing our hair because there is a hand held shower but no shower enclosure.

On our last morning, we walked around the wrap around porch and discovered an interesting water fountain on the grounds which are fairly large for the area. The Heidelberg is a beautiful old restored home. All the guests we talked with found it to be a wonderful place to stay while visiting relatives in West Seattle, as did we.

“So sorry to not be able to give this a postive review”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

Greatly disappointed, the only positive was the breakfast prepared by Eric was just delicious. I wish I had know the reservation consisted of bathroom sharing. Judy claims to have told me but that is not the case. The ceiling fixture was missing a light, there was a gap between the window and the screen of at least six inches, so something could have easily crawled into the room. The bedroom television was so old, it had to have been 13 inches big and you could not see if you were lying on the bed. There was dust in the spider window and filth in the the window ledges. We were staying in Seattle for 4 nights for my boyfriend's 50th birthday and we could not stay past the first night. It took forever to reach Judy as she was laid up due to a fall, so I had to keep calling her from the room to let her know we were not staying. Sadly we purchased a gift certificate from Bed and Breakast.com to use for this room, unfortuantley ehey were not open on the weekend to resolve. Lesson learned!!!!! Boyfriend fell getting out of shower, we could not get out of there fast enough!!

Room Tip: Do not reccomend

“Wonderful Place for Our Family”

3 generations (2 grandparents, 4 adult children, 2 teenagers. We spent a long weekend in Seattle as part of a family vacation to WA. Villa Heidelberg is a unique B&B. The home (over 100 years old) is beautifully decorated and located in the quiet neighborhood of West Seattle. There are 6 bedrooms (1 on the first floor, 1 on the third floor, and we took over the 4 comfortable rooms on the second floor and shared the 2 bathrooms on our floor). Our room had a roof top deck where the family could get together to look over Puget Sound and watch the sunset, beautiful. Eric did a great job with gourmet breakfasts served on gorgeous china, using special flatware and cloth napkins. He greeted us every morning with a smile and helpful info on the area. The location in West Seattle suited us fine. The small town with great restaurants and 2 delicious bakeries was a few short blocks, walk away. Since there was 8 of us with 2 cars, we decided to take the bus from West Seattle to downtown Pike's Market and the monorail to Seattle Center and the Space Needle. The buses ran every 25-30 minutes and were very reasonable priced. Don't drive and park - too expensive and nerve wracking. Thank you, Villa Heidelberg, for adding to our memorable vacation.

“Breakfast was always a treat for the palate.”

Judy and Carol are great hostesses, treating guests with daily delicious fare. Judy's Northwest Eggs Benedict are to die for, and the fresh fruit each morning helps guests minimize the guilt associated with the total enjoyment of the bacon, sausage, warm syrup, and blueberry pancakes. Only a five-minute walk from Alaska Junction, the quiet location is ideal for shopping and browsing. The round dining table offers guests an opportunity to enjoy breakfast , family style. Gorgeous views of the water and the mountains from almost every room, too. Nearby bus stops allow guests to get to downtown Seattle in 15-20 minutes.
