We stayed at three B&B's during our recent trip to Washington State. The Salisbury house was, by far, the best of the three.
The room was very spacious and nicely decorated. The Inn is beautiful and in a nice section of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. There are lots of restaurants/bars/coffee shops within walking distance. It was also nice to stay in a residential neighborhood so my husband could feel comfortable going for his morning run. There were lots of other runners out and about. It is a very pedestrian friendly place.
Katherine is a very good host. She greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our room right away. I really liked that because I just wanted to drop off my bags and take a breather in the room after our travel and sightseeing in Seattle. Katherine's breakfasts were outstanding. I highly recommend Salisbury house and would stay there again.

Beautiful house, perfect location, delicious breakfasts, clean and spacious rooms. Innkeeper was very welcoming and provided loads of wonderful recommendations of things to do. My only suggestion is to offer couples the option to dine privately (outside their rooms) rather than limit options to communal or in-room dining only.

While planning a visit with my daughter in Olympia we decided to spend the night in Seattle on the day I arrived and do some shopping there before driving to Chahalis and Olympia to see other family members. A mommy and me day before the craziness started. We chose to stay at the Salisbury House because of the charming description of the house and gardens we read about on the internet. Most times you think afterwards "what a mistake" it was hyped up and was a bad experience which had happened to me on other trips to other cities. But not here, The Salisbury House was extremely pleasant, the room was very comfortable and clean, breakfast was awesome and our host Cathy was the best. I always have trouble sleeping when I am anywhere but home and did not have this problem at the Salisbury House. I highly recommend staying here and you will not be disappointed. I plan to visit Washington again early next year and look forward to spending the night at the Salisbury House.

We pretended that Salisbury House was our home. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing; the breakfasts were a treat. We're still talking about the oatmeal pancakes. Our room was small and lacked storage for a week's vacation, but we made it work. We would stay there again for sure but request a larger room.
