“Wonderful time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Inn at the WAC for our birthday. It was outstanding. The service was great. They upgraded us to a suite which overlooked the water and a small part of the Olympic Mountains. The only issue I had was we weren't able to stop in front to unload our luggage. Many cars in the front of the hotel with no drivers. We had to park in their garage and walk up the block with luggage. Besides that we would stay there again for sure.

Dear Tony S,

I'm so glad that you had an outstanding experience her over your birthday! I will let our team know that you had great service. My apologies about the valet parking, I will look into this and diagnose the problem. We look forward to having you back, and are glad that we were part of your memorable birthday celebration.

Best regards,

“Great rooms, amazing fitness center and pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

If you have read any of my other reviews, you'll know that a big part of my rating is about the fitness facilities, especially the pool. The Inn at the WAC has the best facilities I've experienced and the rooms are very comfortable. I've stayed in many fine hotels on business and I can state with certainty that the room rate for the quality and location of this hotel is very reasonable.

We've just spent our 3rd New Year's Eve at the Inn at the WAC and decided to add an additional day to our stay to take in the sights of Seattle. Previous years, we've gotten a corner room with balcony - not very useful in the winter. We downgraded so we could stay the extra night and were pleased to find that the room was still very comfortable and had a nice view of the Christmas Star on Macy's department store. Our friends stay in one of the suites, so I can recommend all levels of rooms here.

My first stop (as usual) was the salt water pool. There are times when the pool is for lap swimming only, lap swimming shared with families and closed for swimming classes so ask for a schedule if you want to swim. I also looked around at the women's conditioning center and was really impressed with the variety and quantity of fitness machines. There are separate women's and men's fitness areas and a co-ed area with free weights and machines.

We had dinner and breakfast in Torchy's restaurant and happy hour in Haggerty's sports bar. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable cost of the food (the wine was expensive), but not surprised by the high quality of the food and service. They had 3 Prix Fix selections inclusive of soup, salad, generous entree, dessert and class of wine. Torchy's would be a good place for a business dinner. We tried breakfast at another hotel just down the street and the cost was 35% higher with good food, but not the excellent service of Torchy's.

I would highly recommend a stay here for a "tourist in your hometown" like us or while in town on business or vacation.

One caution - do not turn on the bathroom sink full force while filling a glass - it will spill all over.

Room Tip: higher floors will have better views.

“Fantastic room with water views.”

I really enjoyed my stay at the Inn at the WAC. It was my first time here and I'll be staying again in the future. My room was beautiful with fantastic water views. The local was ideal - right in the heart of downtown seattle. The only downside is the security of going in/out of the building and parking. Parking was really a nightmare since Occupy was protesting in front of their garage the night I stayed and they did very little to accomodate me.

Dear heathert390,

Thanks for your great review and for staying with us. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the room and the views. I'm sorry to hear that you were inconvenienced by the Occupy protests, although I can't conceive of any way for us to manage the protesters. Our security protocols are a requirement of being a private club - as we aren't open to the general public, we check credentials of every person entering the building for the security of our guests and members. I'm glad to learn that you will be returning, and will look forward to welcoming you back.

“Nice Business Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We stayed at The Inn at the WAC for 2 weekend nights. Great location in downtown Seattle. Nice sized rooms with a safe and flat panel TV. The bed was very comfortable.

The bathroom was small but well equipped. The sink is too shallow and situated in add odd place. The show is great though.

The free public WIFI worked great.

Dear scholnicks,

Thanks very much for staying with us and for your review. I'm glad to learn that you liked the bed and the shower. As to the sink location, it was difficult to find a better place to put it when we recently renovated. We will gladly talk through this with you when you make your next reservation. I hope that we will see you again soon.

“Good location, expected more for the cost”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Stayed here since a friend's wedding was held at the WAC. Even with the discounted rate for guests of the wedding, it was expensive. Plus, the $33/day for parking which is not mentioned when you arrive. Had to make reservations over the phone and those got messed up even though I specified the dates we would be staying multiple times with the person taking the reservation. Never received email confirmation of reservation. Room was very small and walls were thin. Biggest complaint for me was the window coverings were only a sheer curtain meaning that as soon as the sun came up, I was awake. Not ideal sleeping conditions and there was nothing I could do to fix it. Overall, I had high expectations for this place and was not impressed. Will be looking for someplace else the next time I visit Seattle.

Dear raenstorm,

Thank you for your review of our property. Please accept my apologies for any inconveniences experienced. We will investigate your statement regarding the mix-up of your reservations. We acknowledge that our rooms are definitely on the smaller side, as you indicated.

I would like to clarify a couple of issues where there appears to be a misunderstanding. Every one of our room windows offers a set of sheers, behind which there is a fabric blackout roller shade, which you may not have noticed. As to the statement about the walls being thin, this is not the case as they are built with concrete block (circa 1929) between each room and have lath and plaster surfaces on either side. As a standard practice, we do state parking charges up front, and they are about average for downtown Seattle hotels. If we somehow failed to state this, I apologize.

Should you have further comments, please contact me at kkozuki@wac.net in order that I may personally address them. We hope to have the opportunity to impress you on your next trip to Seattle.

Best regards,

Kerry Kozuki
